Founded in 1903, BIOS-based researchers and visiting scientists have worked to explore the ocean and address critical local and global environmental issues. In 2021, BIOS joined the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at Arizona State University combining 120 years of ocean research with the #1 U.S. institution in innovation, impact and sustainability.
