I know my channel is somewhat of a graveyard at the moment (my bad) but I briefly remembered my youtube login so I thought I'd use my platform for a second.
Team Fortress 2, (the video game) has been publicly rotting for almost 7 years. Valve, the company behind the game, has not only refused to maintain their public servers, they have refused to shut them down as well. This has led to an unprecedented wave of automated accounts DDoSing servers and cheating to make the game completely unplayable.
In response to this, Valve has added numerous (community-made..) loot boxes, and even specifically promised the community they would address the issue... before proceeding to completely disable voice and text chat from non-premium accounts, and (unsurprisingly) add several more loot boxes.
I am completely fine with publishers' decisions to retire games, but Valve has left their servers open *just wide enough* to extract as much money from the community as possible while refusing to provide the services they publicly advertise on the game's Steam store page.
Please consider leaving a negative review on the game, or changing your existing review, in response to Valve's inaction.
Once again, the *VERY LARGE* community behind this game has started a petition to attempt to salvage the situation. At the time of writing this, there are over 200,000 confirmed signatures.
