Hi all,
Not you're usual update but the more folks who see this the better, but a lot of you know I am a knife and sword collector, and I know that a large number of you guys are too. It has come to my recent attention that the UK government are up to there usual tricks and are busy banning more random stuff even though it doesn't look like it will reduce crime statistics at all, I had to give up a load of stuff in 2019 and I'm not looking forward to a repeat of that.
For those of you who live in the UK, there is a government consultation open where you can write in and offer your opinions, as always please be sensible and constructive and watch Matt's video first so you know the details of what they are proposing, unfortunately you only have until the 6th June to respond to this

So why the engraving question?
My next project is in the works, A dwarven utility/bush-craft knife inspired by a viking seax. Maybe there will be a video on this at some point, but I made this for a competition with a deadline of October 13th (and I may yet not make it) so didn't have time to film the whole process, however I have Eric (Ichthean Forge: www.youtube.com/channel/UCDFP...) to thank for inspiring me to try this, please check out his channel, he has some awesome content :)
For now, here's some photo's of the metal work and the knife as it is right now in the clamp waiting for the resin to set, then hopefully tomorrow I can file the wood down to size and get some photo's submitted for the competition, wish me luck... [the blade blank was made as a favor from a local knife maker (www.ukcustomknives.co.uk/custom-knives-about-us/), he doesn't normally do knife blanks so I am lucky to have this, however I did make some small changes to it, and all the brass work is mine]

There's been a bit of a break in video's of late, because I had my summer holiday, and then all the "way too hot" weather we've been having has stopped me rendering video's because the PC starts to overheat, but hopefully I will have some new content up some time in the next week
