Kaitlyn Nohara is a collaborator and clarinetist with a passion for chamber and new music; she is adamant about realizing the musical visions of composers, peers, and listeners.
She is the clarinetist in Proxyma-B Quintet and a founding member of the Denver Chamber Orchestra. In both 2023 and 2025, she was part of groups that placed runner-up in the Lamont Chamber Honors Competition. A frequent collaborator with composers, she has premiered works by both emerging and established creators. In 2024 & 2025, she won the Lamont Outstanding Performance of a Student Composition Award.
Kaitlyn earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music. She is honored to be the 2025 Presser Scholar, representing Lamont’s graduating class. She plans to continue her studies with Jonathan Gunn at the University of Texas at Austin. Her primary influences include Dr. Jeremy Reynolds, Jason Shafer, and Lynne Nakaura.
