Lot going on here, but first, GREAT NEWS...

Senior officials at Mercedes Benz have confirmed after a lot of back and forth that the V8 WILL be making a return to Mercedes AMG products. This comes after a lot of rumors of Mercedes' top brass was not happy with the sales of their new 670HP hybrid 4 cylinder in their C63 and GLC 63 AMG, as they have allegedly ground to a halt.

It's important to note tho, that this has not been confirmed by Mercedes Benz themselves, it's only been confirmed by senior executives, confusing I know, but it isn't 100% set in stone yet.

The V8 is slated to make a return in their upcoming CLE 63, and it will be a Plug In Hybrid, apart from that, not much is known about the powerplant or how true all of this really is.

Side note, not that many of you care, but I was working on a super long 1+ hour video essay. Unfortunately, with all I have going on outside of Youtube rn, it just isn't possible for me to continue. I've shifted to a standard length video, but that has been the reason for the drought in uploads. Next video will hopefully be out by this time next week. Hope to see you then!

I gotta admit, I did not see this coming

In a bombshell development from the Andretti Cadillac saga, Andretti Autosports has enlisted the help of the U.S. government, more specifically the U.S. congress, to try and "persuade" Liberty Media and Formula 1 Management to reconsider their choice to bar the American outfit from joining the F1 grid in 2026.

Unlike a lot of other flash in the pan stories, this may actually have some teeth to it, as Formula 1's parent company, Liberty Media, is a U.S. incorporated and based company. Not to mention, they blocked 2 companies (G.M. and Andretti Autosports) that are also, surprise surprise, headquartered and based out of the U.S. On top of ALL of that, it isn't like this is just 1 or 2 members of congress doing this for a couple of goofs, Andretti has the support of multiple members of congress from both sides of the aisle. Funny how the only thing both parties can agree on is getting Andretti into F1, but anyways. According to lawyers that I've asked, there is a serious, legitimate argument to be made that F1 and Liberty Media have violated American Antitrust laws.

This is on top of all the other crazy developments in the sport recently. Just off the top of my head there's Gunther Steiner suing Haas. Adrian Newey, arguably the greatest F1 car designer of all time, has left his home of more than a decade with Red Bull due to the Christian Horny Saga. There's Ferrari's massively disappointing Miami Livery, and so, so much more.

If only the on track action was as good as the off track action, I might actually watch F1 again.

Bit of a mixed bag here

On the good side of things, Brodie Kostecki will make his long awaited return to Erebus Motorsports in Supercars later this year. It was never 100% known exactly what was going on, and a lot of people have a lot of different opinions. But what was known was that the reigning champion has sat out this season so far due to disputes with his team. It was, and still is massive news, as it would be the equivalent of if someone like Max Verstappen or Kyle Larson sat out part of the season due to contract disputes.

As for the not so great news, I’m not 100% sure when this happened, but as an American fan I gotta say I’m fuming. Supercars, notorious for making some of the wisest and well informed decisions in motorsports, in a move of infinite genius, has elected to put various race weekend highlights behind a paywall in the form of their useless steaming app. Even a brand like F1, notorious for overcharging fans at every corner, hasn’t pulled a massively boneheaded move like that. Now more than ever they need new fans, and I promise you this is just accelerating its downfall into eventual dissolution.

In news that has shocked everyone with a room temperature IQ…

Automotive News reported that Mustang Mach E sales have tripled, inventory is plummeting, and the percentage of cars sold over a given time has skyrocketed.
I hear you, how could this be, has Ford somehow made the next Civic with the Mach E? Ah no, it’s still as mid as before, the key difference is that they have slashed prices on these things, with some going for as low as 30k.

This shouldn’t be shocking news, EV demand has gone off a cliff recently, and overall, people are broke, a lot of people can’t afford a 50k car, but a hell of a lot more can afford a 30k car. It proves that Ford, and other brands CAN give us cheaper vehicles, but use things like the pandemic and inflation as an excuse to price gouge.

A new video is in the works, I know it’s been a while. I had mid terms at Uni and it meant I had almost no extra time to work on videos, but I’m back!

Fellas, a second Harlequin has hit the dealerships.

Volkswagen UK teased the following image, along with others on their social media accounts. Anyone with half a brain cell knows that those are the colors of the legendary Golf Harlequin, a super unique and highly sought after trim of VW models, where every body panel is a different color of either turquoise, red, yellow, or blue.

We got the Golf here in the states, around 260 of them. Overseas saw Europe getting the Harlequin Polo, and even a Harlequin Beetle that was exclusive to Mexico.

There is so much history to this car, and between its eye popping uniqueness and rarity, automotive geeks all over the world fiend for these things, so if they do end up bringing the Harlequin back it will be massive.

Ladies and gentlemen, we may be witnessing history in the making.

Rumors have recently exploded in the Rally world that Lancia is likely to return to the World Rally Championship.

I will say, this comes with a rather large asterisk, they would be competing in the second tier Rally2 series. Even if/when they do join the WRC, it wouldn’t be until 2027, as the WRC is expected to announce new rules to take effect in 2027 favoring said Rally2 cars over the current top tier Rally1 cars.

However you slice it tho, this is massive news. In the 70s thru the 90s, Lancia was an unrivaled juggernaut in rally championships all over the world, and is still to this day the most successful manufacturer to ever compete in the WRC, despite pulling out of the sport in the 90s. Their rally program gave birth to cars that are still highly sought after like the Fulvia, Stratos, O37, and the Delta among many many more.
