수술 후 잘 회복 중입니다.
아직 무리하면 안 된다고 해서 살살 작업 하고 있어요.
입원했을 때 일기처럼 적어둔 글에 생각보다 많은 분들이 응원해주셔서 진짜 감동이었습니다.
감성팔이하려던 건 아니고ㅋㅋ

회복되면 하고 싶은 게 많아요.
그동안 미뤘던 일들도 하나씩 해보려고 합니다.
진짜 건강이 최고라는 걸 뼈저리게 느꼈습니다.

그리고 가끔 저인 척 이벤트 한다고 개인적으로 말 걸어서
배송비 내라고 하는 사기꾼들이 있어요. 꼭 조심하세요.

I’m recovering well after my surgery.
I’ve been taking it easy with my work since I can’t overdo it just yet.

I was genuinely touched by the unexpected amount of support I received for the post I wrote during my hospital stay.
I didn’t mean to make it a sob story, haha,

Once I fully recover, I have a lot I want to do.
I plan on tackling the tasks I’ve been putting off one by one.
I’ve truly come to realize that health is everything.

Also, there are scammers pretending to be me and asking people to pay for shipping in fake events. Please be careful.

2년 전, 처음 허리에 통증이 찾아왔을 때만 해도 이렇게까지 될 줄은 몰랐다. 하루하루를 버티는 일이 이렇게 고통스러울 줄도 몰랐다. 협착증이라는 진단을 받고, 처음엔 ‘이겨낼 수 있겠지’라며 대수롭지 않게 생각했다. 하지만 시간이 지나면서 통증은 단순한 불편함을 넘어 내 삶의 중심을 뒤흔들었다.

사랑하는 아내는 묵묵히 내 곁을 지켜주었고, 주변 사람들도 걱정 어린 시선을 보냈다. 하지만 나는 그들의 배려를 온전히 받아들이지 못했다. 몸이 아프면 마음도 작아지는 법이라 했던가. 나는 점점 짜증이 많아졌고, 스스로도 모르게 가족과 지인들에게 힘든 감정을 전가하고 있었다. 그들이 나를 위해 헌신하는 모습이 감사하면서도 미안했다.

그러던 어느 날, 내 아이가 나를 바라보는 눈빛을 보고 깨달았다. 나는 아프다는 이유로 주어진 책임을 소홀히 하고 있었고, 아이는 그런 나를 가만히 지켜보고 있었다. ‘아버지’라는 이름이 내 어깨를 더 무겁게 짓눌렀다. 변화가 필요했다.

잘나가던 대기업을 그만두고, 전혀 다른 길을 선택했다. 가죽을 만지고, 그것을 콘텐츠로 만들어 사람들에게 보여주는 유튜버가 되었다. 과거의 나였다면 도무지 이해할 수 없는 선택이었을지도 모른다. 하지만 인생은 원래 예측할 수 없는 방향으로 흘러가는 법이다.

그리고 오늘, 나는 병실에 누워 있다. 신경감압술. 이 작은 수술 하나로 그동안의 고통이 사라질 수 있을까? 기대 반, 두려움 반이다. 수액이 천천히 몸으로 스며들며 통증을 덜어주지만, 내 머릿속은 온갖 생각들로 가득하다.

이제 나는 어떻게 살아가야 할까. 더 이상 가족과 주변 사람들에게 짐이 되고 싶지 않다. 아이가 자라는 모습을 온전히 지켜보고 싶고, 아내에게도 더 이상 미안한 남편이 아닌 든든한 동반자가 되고 싶다.

고통 속에서도 얻은 것이 있다면, 그것은 책임이라는 두 글자일 것이다. 나는 다시 일어설 것이고, 내가 선택한 길을 끝까지 걸어갈 것이다. 이 수술이 내 인생의 전환점이 될 것임을 믿는다. 그리고 오늘만큼은, 내 곁에서 함께해 준 모든 이들에게 고마움을 전하고 싶다.

인생이란 뭘까. 아직은 정확히 모르겠다. 하지만 한 가지 확실한 것은, 나는 이 삶을 결코 포기하지 않을 것이라는 것이다.

Two years ago, when I first felt pain in my lower back, I never imagined it would come to this. I never thought enduring each day would become so excruciating. When I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, I initially brushed it off, thinking, I can get through this. But as time passed, the pain became more than just discomfort—it began to shake the very foundation of my life.

My loving wife stood by me without complaint, and those around me looked at me with concern. Yet, I couldn’t fully accept their kindness. They say that when the body aches, the mind shrinks as well. I became irritable, unknowingly projecting my frustrations onto my family and friends. I felt both grateful and guilty watching them sacrifice for me.

Then one day, I saw the look in my child’s eyes and realized something. I had been using my pain as an excuse to neglect my responsibilities, and my child had been silently watching. The weight of being a father pressed down on me even harder. I needed to change.

I left behind a successful career at a major corporation and took an entirely different path. I started working with leather, turning it into content to share with people as a YouTuber. The old me would have never understood such a decision. But life has a way of unfolding in unpredictable ways.

And now, here I am, lying in a hospital bed. A nerve decompression procedure. Can this small surgery really erase all the pain I’ve endured? I feel equal parts hopeful and afraid. The IV drips slowly into my veins, easing the pain, but my mind is racing with endless thoughts.

How should I live from now on? I don’t want to be a burden to my family and loved ones anymore. I want to be present as my child grows up. I want to be a husband my wife doesn’t have to constantly worry about—a true partner she can rely on.

If there is one thing I’ve gained from all this pain, it’s an understanding of responsibility. I will stand up again, and I will see this path I’ve chosen through to the end. I believe this surgery will be a turning point in my life. And today, more than ever, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has stood by me.

What is life, really? I still don’t know for sure. But one thing is certain—I will never give up on it.
