Daniel Puente Encina, singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Santiago de Chile, resident in Santiago/Barcelona/Berlin, published his 3rd solo album, Sangre y Sal (Blood and Salt), inspired by the mark left by Africa on the criolla music of Peru, Argentina and Chile in 2019. He was awarded with The Lukas (Latin UK Awards) in the category European Jazz/Folk Act of the year. He has been producing and performing music under his own name since 2012. His minimal Caribbean-Blues album Disparo (Shot) was followed by the cosmopolitan and orchestral Chocolate Con Ají (Chocolate with Chili) in 2014. He is known for creating a wide variety of musical projects as anti-fascist band Pinochet Boys from Santiago de Chile (1984-1987), Niños Con Bombas from Hamburg (1994-1999) and Polvorosa from Barcelona (2000-2011). Many of his songs can be heard on the soundtracks of Turkish-German director Fatih Akin movies such as his road movie In July (Im Juli) or his multi-award-winning Head-On (Gegen die Wand)
