Happy Sunday guys! Whatever you're doing, I hope you're having a good one! Here are some alternatives to saying VERY. There's nothing wrong with saying VERY, but it's good to have some variety in your vocabulary, particularly when you reach a higher level. Example sentences π
We can intensify these adjectives by using ABSOLUTELY! We love to exaggerate, so this is very common!
π That film was absolutely brilliant!
π That view is absolutely stunning!
π It's absolutely roasting today!
π I failed my exam. I'm absolutely miserable!*
π What absolutely awful news!
*we can also use 'miserable' to refer to bad weather.
π What a miserable day!
Be careful - we don't use VERY with these extreme adjectives.
π That film was very brilliant! β
How about the last one? Put your ideas in the comments! π

Hi guys! Happy New Year! I've just scheduled the first LIVE STREAM of 2025! π Join me on Thursday 9th January at 1:30pm (CET) to learn lots of IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS to talk about HEALTH π§ββοΈ Link π
I've chosen this topic because I'm currently getting over a bug (minor illness). It was inevitable really as there is so much going around at the moment, and I was travelling a lot over the Christmas and New Year period.
If you can't make it to the live stream, you will be able to watch the replay. It's best to leave it 24 hours to give the video time to process and me time to edit out any bits of empty space.
You can join and/or set a reminder via this link: youtube.com/live/vzmrmtJ5q_I
