I've been busy working on a few presentations, studying for an upcoming exam, and enjoying a weekend retreat with my co-residents. So...this week's video will probably be uploaded a bit later in the week (I usually upload Wednesday mornings), but keep your eyes peeled!
What do you want to see?

I've been off of YouTube for a while now, trying to figure out exactly what my goals are for this channel. First, I am excited to start back up with WEEKLY VIDEOS starting THIS WEDNESDAY 2/23.
I've always wanted this to be a place where people interested in becoming doctors/OBGYNs could come -- a place that might help you decide if you want to pursue this calling (via showing you what my life is like). I hope that I could even help you achieve this goal (via tips for med school/residency success) if so interested.
I am also passionate about making this a place where people interested in reproductive health, whether a student or patient, can come to learn some basics. I want to provide education which can entertain the curious, serve as a supplement for learners, and hopefully allow patients to be strong advocates for their health.
As per always, all content posted on my channel is for the purpose of entertainment and education, not as medical advice. All opinions are my own and are not reflective of those of my residency program.

If you are a regular to my channel, you’ve probably noticed that I haven’t uploaded in a week. In this time I have been reflecting and educating myself on social injustice and systemic racism, as I truly hope many others in my community have been. I am still, and always will be, continuing to learn. I want to use this platform to share some of the resources I have learned from, and am planning on continuing to learn from. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, and I have admittedly not read/listened to/watched all of these resources yet, but they have been referred to me by friends and colleagues. If any other resources have made a meaningful impact on your understanding of racism, I would love to hear more about them in the comments!

Today I GRADUATED FROM MEDICAL SCHOOL! I'm officially Erika Mauban, MD! Graduation video to come tomorrow!! I was planning to change my channel name to "Erika Mauban, MD," but my videos stopped working when I tried (maybe because I set my account up as a brand account? not sure), so I guess I'll just stick to Doctor in Training (unless anyone has some tips to fix that).
