Back on the Bus! I know right whatās it been like 4 weeks!
Continuing with shiplap and this second at the front of the bus, I ran into a poxy situation where the only way I could get this piece in was to cut it š« I didnāt want to cut it but timber isnāt Gumby.
Some days you rack your brain working out how your going to achieve a finish & itās not as straight forward as one would likeā¦. This bus has curves at all fronts, the whole side of the bus curves out in both length and the height by about 25mm which makes running straight boards intriguing š§ a laser doesnāt help as much as youād think due to the optical traps, a 0.5mm string line helps a lot more & honestly I was this close š¤š¼ to pull out the 2lb braided fishing line.

Great Day! It was cold š„¶ and super fresh! & before it was too late, like snowing or hailing or something like that! The lads and I dug up the Spud bed, all 3 lads found a great big spud each which was awesome! They where so exited!

From 9 spuds it worked out about 20kg or about 44lbs!
Next years bed will be 5-6x the size, definitely worth planting in your own yard, recommend no dig bed, barely had to water over the summer months too! Great spot great yield!

Slowly but surly been working with this lovely family down the road, getting some of these finishing touches complete, yesterday I spent the day cutting up & prepping for polish, 2 timber panels to make the bench area and surrounds for this laundry & mucked about installing IKEA cabinetā¦. Came up alright šš¼ thereās still a little more that wants to be designed but for now thatāll do pig š· thatāll do! Ha!!

Thereās a bit of a back story with this lil help out projectā¦.
The homeowners were out of the house for something like 6 or 8 months while it was getting renovated by others and the day, I mean the day they are all about to move in, I get a ping on my phone it said āfire alert šØ in your areaā so I jumped up & put my pants on & went for a wonder down the road & I know what your thinking š¤ you didnāt have any pants onā¦. āš¼ wow weāll get to that but youāre missing the big pictureā¦. Iām walking down my avenue and I see a shadow in the dark with a womanās voice yelling HELP MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE š„
So I start running, get to the house filling up buckets of water, dragging them in and chucking them on the small blaze, by the time the CFA got to site the house was full of smoke but the fire was out, made sure the area was dowsed & let the crew go in and make sure the joint was safe.
On the day I said to the family what ever you need let me know & weāll get this sorted sheās a ezy fix š»

Hi Yāall š», just installed a Starlink dish, I havenāt been able to upload anything due to really poor internet speed, Iāve been dealing with 0.3-0.6Kbps upload speeds for the last 6 months.
Finally upgraded! Not super fast 18-25Mbps upload speeds so shouldnāt take near on 3 weeks to upload anything š¤£

The Daisugi Technique
The Japanese have been producing wood for 700 years without cutting down trees. In the 14th century, the extraordinary daisugi technique was born in Japan. Indeed, the daisugi provide that these trees will be planted for future generations and not be cut down but pruned as if they were giant bonsai trees; by applying this technique to cedars, the wood that can be obtained is uniform, straight and without knots, practically perfect for construction. A pruning as a rule of art that allows the tree to grow and germinate while using its wood, without ever cutting it down.
