It’s been a minute, but I’m back y’all! Unfortunately, my mother passed away on August 1st and I needed a minute to process that. It’s been a challenge and I needed to take time off of YouTube. This month is #breastcancerawarenessmonth. It’s only fitting that you see that I’m #growing through my #griefjourney. All I can say is that, “the lord is good!” While I’m growing through it, I know that He is in control. Grief can’t take me or any of you out. The fact that you’re still here means that you’ve got more work to do. So, if you’re growing through it, keep calm and trust #God. #keepthefaith #praying for you🙏🙏🙏

Hey ladies, if you truly want to #represent for #women considering entering this #truckingindustry, be the change. Women are literally seeking advice because they want to enter the trucking industry. Some are leaving their parents home for the first time. They have no idea what the real world of #trucking entails. They need to know the ins and outs in a #professional way. So, of course they turn to #socialmedia.

What will they find when they land on your page, channel or post? Will they find a woman that is handling her business like a true professional? Or will they see someone entertaining and making light of the dangers and obstacles out here?

I’m asking you….no I’m pleading with you all to transform into a woman supporting another woman’s vision. People’s lives are truly at stake. I see it all the time in my current role as a cdl instructor. Families are depending on your information and experience as #professionaldrivers. This is so much bigger than you. And how you represent the trucking industry can help another sister or destroy her future.

I need you ladies to start building a standard of excellence that sets the tone. More leaders are necessary to ensure that there are safe drivers in every aspect of this career. Will you hold yourself accountable to make a real difference? Or is it more important to be popular without integrity? We need you sis. Time out for wrong intentions on display. #mentorship is powerful when used correctly.

Think about what it was like when you first started. What were your expectations? Did you look for women leaders in trucking? Did you have questions that went unanswered? If so, you are in the unique position to answer those questions.

Thanks for reading my lengthy post. I love you. But we all can do better.

💗💗I so appreciate all of you who reached out to me today about the loss of our #truckingdiva sister Katrina Truckdiva Achane. I worked with her and her husband Kevin during my time at Swift Transportation from 2013-2015. And yes, I’m heartbroken at yet another loss. She was a very free spirit and a sweetheart. And in my time with her, there was nothing we couldn’t talk about. But we’d not spoken on the phone for a while. She popped in my head just last week and I forgot to call or message her. Of course last week, my husband and I were moving from California to Springfield, Missouri.

Anyway, I spoke to her husband about an hour ago. He informed me that she’d been sick, off and on for the last 2 months while on the road. The cause of death, unknowing to her was pneumonia in both lungs and the doctors discovered lesions on her brain. They have no idea how long they’d been there. So, they could’ve been there for quite some time. Heartbreaking!! She was only 45. She passed away January 2, 2020.😓😥😢

Katrina was one of several women featured here on Trucking Divas Rock The BlogAZine. We met originally through Facebook group for African American women truckers. I’ll forever miss her and remember her for her beautiful spirit, those gorgeous nails and her many hair styles💗💗💗 R.I.P. Queen💗💗💗 So sorry we lost you💗💗💗 Dee Sova
