in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
Recently, my videos for The Lamb Complete have been blocked worldwide by the copyright holder after years without issue. I'm not certain why new copyright claims were made on older videos, but I hope they'll change policy and stop blocking them, as has occasionally happened before.
My other videos are still visible, including ones for individual tracks of the Lamb. If those get blocked at some point I will upload versions containing no audio so that the illustrations can still be viewed.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but there's not much I can do since I don't own the rights to the songs.

Hi all,
Below is an FAQ to answer common questions I see people ask in comments on my videos:
1. What tools did you use to make these comics?
A. Older comics (Song for Sharon, Amelia, Guinnevere) were hand drawn using pen and ink and scanned, then videos were made in iMovie. From Supper's Ready onwards, comics are drawn digitally in Photoshop and videos were made in Adobe Premiere.
2. What about animated parts, like in Supper's Ready and The Lamb?
A. Most animation is done using Premiere's tools, while some special segments were drawn frame-by-frame in Photoshop for added effect.
3. How long does take to make a video?
A. Varies depending on the project. Supper's Ready took 5 months, The Lamb took nearly 3 years (with breaks and other comics done in between album sides). More recent comics (Dire Wolf and Life on Mars?) took a while because I am busier now than I was when I was younger.
4. Why are ads on the video and can you turn them off?
A. My videos use copyrighted music. The copyright holders (not me) have control over ads played on my videos. I can't turn off these ads nor control where they appear. If you don't want ads, I have uploaded versions of some videos with No Audio, which also are not blocked in any region. Alternatively, you can download an ad-blocker.
5. Are you sure you can't do anything about ads on your videos?
A. Yes, please stop asking.
6. Can I re-upload your video on my channel?
A. No. Although I don't hold copyright for the music, I do hold copyright for the visuals and will request takedown of videos posted to other channels without my permission.
7. Why are the words all backwards in the Lamb videos?
A. The text is mirrored once Rael passes from the real world into the nightmare/mirror world during Fly on a Windshield. Reversing the text was an artistic choice, inspired by Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass.
8. Why are the visuals so "literal"?
A. My illustrations are representational because I choose songs that have a story to tell. Some music has lyrics without meaning, but in other songs the lyrics matter a great deal. I am drawn more to the latter and find they often are overlooked because many people think of lyrics as secondary to the music. With a visual pairing, I try to bring out the narrative so a wider audience can appreciate the song on a deeper level. If I made illustrations that were completely detached from the lyrics, it might make for a good video but it wouldn't help tell the song's story in a meaningful way, which feels like a disservice to the musician that wrote the lyrics.
9. Can you illustrate a song I like?
A. I don't take requests.
10. Can I commission you to illustrate a song I wrote?
A. I am not open for commissions.
11. Will you do more Genesis or Prog songs?
A. Future comics will likely illustrate songs by new artists in new genres. I have done plenty by Genesis/Peter Gabriel, so don't expect more of their work anytime soon. And while I like some Prog, I enjoy many other genres too, so it's unlikely I will illustrate more in the genre in the foreseeable future.

Hi all,
This March will mark ten years of Musical Comics. When I first started making these I never imagined finding such a dedicated audience for my work, so to everyone that has supported me over the years through likes, comments, shares, and backing me on Patreon, I want to give a heartfelt thank you. You are all awesome ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ
I still plan to keep making more comics, but I also am excited to share that I have started on a new writing project, an original work of fiction that I hope to someday turn into a novel or even series of novels. It's a travelogue/adventure story about a group of people on a sacred quest, taking them all over in search of answers to deep mysteries. It will feature a lot of world-building, some comedy, and lots of fun, odd characters.
I'll soon begin publishing this story in serial installments on my Patreon, so if anyone is interested to read it or keep up with its progress, you can join me at www.patreon.com/nbarlam . I know it's a bit different from what I usually post, but it's something I've wanted to write for a long time so I hope people enjoy it. And, whenever I start on a new comic, backers on my Patreon will be the first to know, getting behind-the-scenes updates on any work in progress.
Hope everyone has a great 2023,
