A family-owned publishing company, is celebrating its 50th year of publishing high-quality trade paperback books this year. In that time, Shelter has published books in two main categories: building and fitness.
The Shelter Library of Building Books includes the classic book Shelter, as well as Tiny Homes, Home Work, Builders of the Pacific Coast, and most recently, The Half-Acre Homestead.
Shelter’s fitness books include the world-wide bestseller, Stretching, by Bob Anderson, as well as Galloway’s Book on Running, by Olympic runner Jeff Galloway.
Shelter operates out of a studio built of recycled wood in the midst of a vegetable garden, and hooked into the world with six Macintosh computers.
