La Ciudad Perdida is the ruins of an ancient city in the Sierra Nevada region of Colombia.
Discovered in 1972, the city was originally built in 800AD; 650 years before Machu Pichu, by the Tayrona people.
The ruins are accessible to tourists today via a 4-6 day hike in the amazing landscape of the Sierra Nevada passing through the villages of the Kogi, direct descendants of the Tayrona, spectacular waterfalls and river crossings in what many describe as being in an Indiana Jones movie.
