Homemade Elderberry Syrup!

You can play with these ingredients based on budget and preference, but here is how we do it. We take a shot of this daily and use it as a base for some of ours kids vitamins that come in liquid form (D and Omega 3). We source our elderberry in bulk from Azure.

4 C water
1 t each cinnamon, ginger and cloves
1 cinnamon stick
3/4 C dried elderberries
1 C raw honey or maple syrup

1. Bring everything to a simmer. Put a lid on and simmer on low 30-40 mins.

2. Let cool completely, then strain so you’re left with a smooth liquid.

3. Stir in sweetener of choice.

4. Pour into jars or bottles and keep in refrigerator.

Hi friends! I missed a couple uploads this week as we held a birthday party + now I’m under the weather. I thought it would be great to share this sick day soup. Chicken noodle is delicious but I usually don’t feel like taking the effort to cook meat or chop veggies when I’m sick. This egg drop soup is a perfect high protein alternative. Increase your egg if you want it thicker and higher in protein (this is 3 eggs to 2 c broth). Whisk hard if you want your eggs to be smooth, or gentler if you prefer more texture. Increase vinegar for more tang. It’s all very customizable. For the broth, I’ve used everything. Today I used the vegetable bouillon cubes we made in a recent video.

See you all Wednesday with the next upload. ❤️

For one:
1 C broth
1/4 t soy sauce
1/4 t sesame oil
2 t water + 1 t cornstarch, premixed in a slurry
1 egg, beaten
1/4 t white pepper, optional
Pinch salt
1 t white vinegar (I often add more)
Top with green onions

Boil broth, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Then add cornstarch. Once combined, whisk in the eggs. Add salt, pepper and vinegar. Taste and adjust to your preference.

I had a video ready to go out, but there’s seems to be a processing delay on YouTube’s end and I’m unable to upload. I will get it out as soon as possible.

In the video, we freeze cilantro fresh from the Greenstalk - no blanching or preparing in anyway. Here is the cilantro fresh out of the freezer - we chopped it up and put it in a taco bake tonight and it was perfect! The flavor is fully retained, but if you thawed it out it would be a bit darker and have a limp texture. If you don’t need presentation points, it’s a win!

Hi! I hope you all are getting some great Spring weather. I wanted to ask your opinion. Would you be interested in shorter, *almost* daily uploads of what goes on in our kitchen? Or do you prefer the longer videos? Feel free to let me know in the comments what is most helpful for you!

Also.. there are almost 1,000 of you! Thank you all for being here. I am planning a giveaway once we hit that number.

Hi everyone! I am currently in rural Illinois and I’ve been to a few coffee shops trying to upload today’s video. The signal out here just isn’t strong enough. I will share it with you all as soon as I return home on Monday. ❤️
