Mine turn to write a long paragraph about something unrelated and unverifiable that aims to inform everyone here about something that only I know and care about, while this video loops in the background at full volume. ANYWAY. When I was a young man and worked down at the cessna factory (of course it was called the DC-3 beechcraft factory at the time) carving these airplanes out of solid blocks of aluminum by hand, we used to test our own pontoon designs on reject planes during our lunchbreaks. I remember a bunch of us guys got together and built up a plane that had triple floats top and bottom! Total of 12 floats all around. It took doubling up the wings to get enough span to get it out of the water. But we were still able to take the whole crew shift out for spins around the pond and land it within 15 feet of a golf tee we used to throw out of the window onto the water. Man! What fun those days were! Of course our little experimental planes had a little more power back in the day. Why, we used to double up the standard engine configuration so we had two engines and props running front to back stacked up on each other. The planes would just shoot straight up out of the water like a rocket as soon as it turned over. You had to be ready with the flaps! It doesn't make much sense if you can't picture it, but this is my story now that you're trapped in so you're gonna just believe me. ANYWAY. Sure don't make em like they used toO! Or some bs boomer platitude like that. Well, by now you've read this far, and I've used enough plane related jargon to appear authentic, but I'm going to bring this piece to a close now. It's taken me three hours to type this thing out (with that damn plane engine looping in the background still. Full volume) because I'm only able to hunt and peck at the keyboard with two fingers. BUt I'll be sure to post this on my facebooks too with an equally long comment describing an even more ridiculous made up memory. I'll make sure to sign it too. "-roy" or "-fred" or something like that. Well, ok then. Bye now kids.

Oil sniffers...... that’s where Royal Dutch Shell is heading in an attempt to survey huge tracts of rugged and remote terrain that might be hiding oil.
The trick is an instrument Shell is perfecting that can sniff molecular signatures of trapped hydrocarbons floating in the air at concentrations of just 10 parts per trillion. Shell puts the instrument on board an aircraft that flies low (about 1,000 feet) over potential oil territory, sniffing the air and comparing that information with other data collected onboard about the chemistry and structure of the terrain below and the local weather conditions
