Here’s some context so y’all can really feel me:
I suffer in this pursuit of my dream and often find myself not being able to idolize or lean on anyone in this industry. However, repeatedly in my life I’ve always been able to look at the life of Jesus as a source of strength to pull myself to higher heights than expected of me.
This world mocks God and they continue to mock anyone who has a calling from God. I believe I was given the gift of music from God and it has caused me to be mocked, criticized, doubted, misunderstood, and judged. Despite people’s words, I listen to what God tells me to do with my gift, and not when the world tells me to quit.
“INRI” is what was inscribed at the top of Jesus cross when He was punished to death for telling the truth.
“INRI” stands for:
Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum
which translates to “Jesus the Nazarene - King of the J***.”
The cross Christ died on was a form of mockery used to execute the lowest class of society at that time. Yet, the image of the cross is now used as a symbol for people to draw strength from. I want the same to apply to the term “INRI” and use it as a reminder for people to speak the truth even when the world tries to silence or mock them.
This isn’t a Christian album. This isn’t an antisemitic statement piece. This is a rap album made by a sinner, who still seeks God in everything he does. If anything, this is an album exposing my shortcomings as a man, my flaws, how I’ve failed and got back up, and exactly how I sin. I want to show the world what makes me human. I want to show people using Christ’s suffering as an example that this world can mock you and your calling, and you can still leave a profound impact on this world before you leave.
The cover is a photo of me and my son because he is my biggest inspiration and greatest creation. My son turned me into a fearless artist.
The 12 songs on this body of work represent the 12 disciples brave enough to walk with Christ during His time on earth.
There’s a lot of hidden symbolism on this cover that I designed myself but I’ll leave the rest up to y’all to decode.
