So I spent a full week working on a 15 min video for the 20th anniversary and rainbow straight up blocked it :D Great!

So, rainbow gave me a random strike on a season 2 episode out of the blue, if they do 2 more, my channel will be gone... I don't want this to happen but if it happens, I might not remake the channel

People usually ask me why I feel like season 5 is weaker and I don't consider it nearly as good as season 4, which for some is not the best as well (not for me, 1-4 all the way xP).
Some blame the animation, which is understandable, but I don't even mind it much. Others Bloom's excessive screentime. Which is related but not completely.
For me, it's the WHOLE premise of the season and how they build it around her, especially regarding Musa and her wish. The legths they went for so that she couldn't have her mother revived but Bloom could, treating her mother's dead as a qUiRKy character trait of Musa that couldn't be taken away.
First the believix wings - If they wanted Believix to flop underwater why did they have to screw its wings and show a sudden weakness? Why not simply state you're not aquatic fairies and will never be able to swim faster........... than a freaking fish? The believix wings didn't need to be nerfed to the point of showing being faulty as hell. You're fighting against sea creatures, and you're fairies. It would be normal for them to be slower and need Harmonix and then Sirenix. But to get slower ON PURPOSE just because the wings break is-
Then the majority of Bloom's lines. Bloom has always been bossy and sassy, but season 5 takes a toll with pretty much all of her lines being straight up orders. "Sorry, Roxy. I want you to stay here." 5x01; "Would you guys make sure we're not disturbed? The job is important and we need to focus." 5x03 to the specialists, who were just visiting.
And finally the worst part for me. The entirety of the Sirenix curse.
Its creation was not planned to give Bloom's sister back just like that, and the reason Daphne didn't "die" after all was not because it was simply an innocent retcon and addition to the story, it's because her dying would mean Musa not wishing to save her mother because "it's not right" and people had to move on no matter the pain, but Bloom doing it would make her a total b*tch.
So they created the entire premise of the Sirenix curse. But they also didn't know what to do with it, so they created this SERIES of plotholes, and I'm telling you there's a lot of them, regarding the whole thing.
Daphne first explains that the witches cursed a spell on Sirenix, but it didn't affect her right away. Only when she used its powers after being cursed, also the flashbacks in Domino showcasing it. It also shows that her "normal" form, the one we always saw, is tecnically her sirenix, so I don't know what the f*ck is that season 6 version of Sirenix but it's not what season 5 and the entire series follows.
Then we have the book of Sirenix telling them there's a curse, and instead of becoming a spirit without a body, they will simply loose their powers... forever?? Which not only is really weird because it's like the ancestral witches decided to simply put a randomizer spell so whenever a fairy wants Sirenix an invisible dart plays around and chooses what curse they'll have, but also LITERALLY contradicts all the previous seasons AND THE SEASON AFTER, with Bloom's "I can't loose my powers, nothing can take away my powers D: here's some of my flames besties".
Anyways the next time we hear about the curse is on episode 23, on the chronomagic room, where it's, supposedly by Faragonda, able to SEE the actual past. How the events really happened. And they changed THE ENTIRE STORY.
Daphne was not in domino anymore, but on the infinite ocean (not only did they use 2D to represent the infinite ocean and the whole battle, but they also used an Andros' ocean as the background), and had a random friend called Politea helping her out. They defeated the witches who were FOR SOME REASON attacking the infinite ocean and they cursed Sirenix directly on Daphne, turning her into a spirit right away. It was NOW, a direct spell.
I also hate how they tried to run away from Daphne being dead by making her weak af and being powerless the entire season, like she simply lost her powers, than when she was ACTUALLY dead. She was literally stronger when she was dead. Are we really brushing it off that she's able to communicate and appear to Bloom thanks to being the previous owner of the dragon flame and still retaining all of its power as a spirit, as shown in the secret of the lost kingdom?
She literally let herself be captured by Tritannus by simply staring at him and did not even one attempt to free herself besides asking Bloom to help and moving around his pollution lmao.
THE WHOLE season is a mess.
And if someone targets my dear season 4, there's a really good way to fix all of its possible plotholes that the show could easily go with, whereas on season 5 they really did showcase and added flashbacks, which makes it impossible to try and find a way to fix it.

Also, since I'm in one of explaining stuff, just reminding you that Bloom got her enchantix out of her will, just as Musa and Tecna. Musa didn't save Galatea, but her will to save her was so strong she became enchantix, as it would be the only way to save her and after she DID, her enchantix was completed. Tecna wanted to save Andros and close the portal where VILLIANS FROM ALL MAGIC DIMENSION (including Zenith, which is one of the closest planets to the omega dimension, located alongside Zenith at the edge of the magic dimension.), but she passed out. Her will to close the portal, however, allowed her to become an Enchantix and then, when she did, she completed her Enchantix.
Will to save someone or something is mostly the triggering key for Enchantix.
Bloom isn't different, pay attention to her flashbacks. The last flashback we see is when Valtor tells Bloom her parents were sent to oblivion in Episode 14. Her rage against Valtor, her will to stop him and her will to save her parents were the triggering key to earn Enchantix. Just like Musa and Tecna, but she never got to save them right away, hence why she remained with her powers incomplete.

Just wanna add something the fandom keeps spreading around as facts when it's not confirmed whatsoever. "Layla" isn't "Layla" because of the 4kids dub. Not only the cinelume version follows that as well, but ALL the versions outside Italy from season 2 up to 4 used the name "Layla". The french dub of Winx Club, for instance, follows the italian dub and translates the show from it, and they still named "Aisha": "Layla". Turkish dub as well.
I'm a translator and dubber student in University and we talk about stuff like these, not in specifics but relatively similar cases, and what I can DEDUCE HAPPENED, not confirmed nor facts, is that rainbow simply asked or placed in the contract for the studio to have the rights to dub Winx to call her "Layla" outside Italy. Then, when Nick took over, they simply said "nah you can name her Aisha now." which some followed, and others refused. Season 5 and 6 in european-portuguese remained with "Layla" as her name, and "Aisha" starting in season 7. The Chinese dub still calls her "Layla", among other dubs.
Now, that creates another tiny issue within the fandom, **IF** IT'S TRUE, because that just makes "Layla" even more "ok", since it's the name they decided to go with outside Italy, then how "fake" as some people say is her "Layla" name? It's the original name they went with outside the origin country, but the name they wanted us to call her.
So yeah, here's my hot water to boil even more the tea.

Sadly, it seems Tecna's Brazillian dubber, Iara Riça, also died, with an aneurism. My heart goes to those who grew up listening to her WONDERFUL roles. Both Ana Garcia and Iara were very dearly and it's so upsetting to see such powerful dub loose 2 voices in a row...
I'll try to make a video as soon as possible. :((
May they find love and peace, just as they shared with all of us.

Hi everyone!
If you have a moment, please make sure to subscribe back to Portal Winx Club, it's a PT-BR channel that releases amazing covers of songs the studios never released. Rainbow decided to strike and remove their original channel, and they had to redo it! Thanks!
