One year ago today, after heading into a rainy Universal Studios, I uploaded my first video. It’s been a fascinating experience since then, with lots of failures and loads of laughs.
Thanks to all of you for watching and indulging me on this very silly journey. The validation from strangers on the Internet truly makes this all worth it!

I've been unsure of how and what to post these last few days, what with my community being on fire and all. But I've come up with a way I can try to help.
Two of my former coworkers were among the many that lost their homes. They're both lovely, regular folks. So I'm gonna try and raise some money for them with my first ever live stream: KEV KAGE VS. THE STARWAY
I am going to climb the 345 steps from Universal Studios Hollywood's Lower Lot to the Upper Lot. And for every $250 raised, I am going to do it again.
Now, I have only ever climbed the entirety of the Starway once at a time. And never, after having completed it, have I thought, "that would be enjoyable to do again." So here's your chance to make me question this decision, all for a great cause.
The live stream will begin THIS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15th at 10AM PT. So watch along in what's sure to be a mess, as I've never done it before and presumably will be in a great deal of discomfort.
I humbly suggest you consider splitting your donation between the two accounts below. Send a screenshot of your donation to kevkageneedsalife@gmail.com before then and I'll start the tally.
Thank you for any and all support! I'll see you Wednesday!

My neighborhood is OK but the destruction for some friends and their communities is heartbreaking. Will be back to the snark shortly, probably with some sort of fundraising effort. Hang in there LA

We did it, folks. 500 subscribers!
In a year that has been very weird for me professionally with a ton of setbacks, creating nonsense on this channel has been a definite bright spot.
Thanks for following along. I appreciate it greatly. And if you too have had a rough year, either in or out of the parks, remember - every day is a chance to start over. Be easy on yourself. You can do it!
Love you all. Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. See you in 2025.

Thanks to the sometimes great Internet I am now the proud owner of an official Hard Rock Park Crew Member shirt IN MY SIZE so I can wear it around town and yell to the skies about Moody Blues Nights in White Satin: The Trip

For any of you coaster enthusiasts, check out @ElToroRyan’s channel for a clip of what is unofficially the last public ride on Six Flags Great Adventure’s Kingda Ka.
If you’re not familiar, when it opened in 2005, Kingda Ka was the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. It didn’t run reliably that first season, so I ended up waiting in line for it for six hours on my inaugural ride.
Was it worth it? When I got off, my body tingled for about twenty minutes. It was the most intense experience I had ever had in ANY capacity, and it was certainly the craziest coaster I’d ever ridden.
I will be putting my thoughts together on this later this week, but until then, if this is the end, farewell to a legend that pushed the boundaries of what a ride could be and allowed a pretty solid park to imagine itself as something greater.

Not that anyone is waiting for it but the next video will be up within the week - got a little sidetracked doing an assignment for a job that ended up not hiring me.
Sooo THAT being said it’s a perfect time to unofficially introduce you to my merch store:

We’re starting off with a couple of designs just to test the waters but take a look and let me know what you think.
I think there is some fun stuff for People Mover fans as well as adults who go to Disney that aren’t Disney Adults.
See you soon I love and miss you all!

For the past 20 years I've worked in advertising and entertainment, but what I REALLY want to do is direct- er, make videos about the glorious world of themed experiences. Mostly born out of passion, but admittedly partially born out of trying to have some sort of viable backup plan for when AI eventually renders my profession obsolete, this channel hopes to provide you with some painfully self-aware theme park adventures and divisive (albeit lukewarm) critiques. Kev Kage Needs a Life - because even though I love this stuff, I absolutely acknowledge that I'd probably be better off using this time to like, learn a language or something.
