Vinicius de Moraes, poet and composer from Rio de Janeiro, was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1913. Considered one of the greatest Brazilian poets, he was also a chronicler, playwright, film critic and diplomat. Vinicius was one of the creators of the Bossa Nova musical movement, composing national and international hit songs. He died in 1980, in Rio de Janeiro, at the age of 66.
