*WE'RE BACK IN ACTION! VIDEOS RESUME ON FEBRUARY 5TH!*
We've resolved the issues we have been plagued with entirely. The team has put in A LOT of work over the past many months to forge a permanent fix.
Thank you so much for your immense patience as we circumvented what looked to be a fatal development. We hope you're as excited as we are for the World Battle League to return!
With that being said, as a little preview for our first match back... who would win in a 6v6 Pokémon Battle using their best teams?

Hi WBL fans,
We've had a very promising development in our latest round of testing. No promises, but it's looking like it may be possible to get this channel back up and running after all. Speaking plainly, if the time comes, we will need your help to do so as we are very much financially in the hole due to all that's happened (see our previous post for more context if you haven't already).
Thank you for your continued support and patience and I hope my next post will contain some very good news!

Hey Trainers! A further update in light of the technical issues we've been facing. We'd like to give you a more detailed account of what's been happening so that you know:
A mere 3 days before we launched this project, we got wind of news that Nintendo was cracking down hard on Yuzu, an open-source Nintendo Switch emulator. Initially, we thought this might not affect WBL operations as we make no use of Yuzu. However, it was found shortly thereafter that Citra (an equivalent 3DS emulator) was made by the same developers. As far as we understand, while Citra was not specifically targeted by Nintendo, the Yuzu developers have decided to suspend Citra's operations as a precautionary measure given that it shares much of the same code.
As you might have guessed, the WBL's entire operation was dependent upon utilizing the Citra emulator to be able to provide high quality online gameplay for battles; and with over a decade of its existence, we felt safe in making use of it. With Citra support having been suspended, multiplayer functionality ceased and made our operations impossible. Despite this, after many hours of troubleshooting, we initially found a workaround based on local 'wireless' direct connection using our own network as an independent server. However, even that stopped working as Citra's operations were progressively shut down, leading to the situation we now find ourselves in.
A 'last resort' was to actually run everything on official Nintendo 3DS systems (which would take an immense amount of work to transfer everything we've created over to), however even those servers were officially shut down by Nintendo on April 8th, 2024. We have truly faced a 'Murphy's Law' kind of situation where multiple reliable options that have remained stable for over a decade suddenly collapsed within a month of release. This has been incredibly hard on all of our staff and we have been working tirelessly to find a solution. The issue is, even if we were able to move the project to something like Pokémon Showdown, this would inevitably severely impact our Youtube video performance (when we were already just barely on the cusp of profitability as things stood in ideal circumstances).
With all of this said, we are continuing to try and find a solution - we just ask that you allow us time to do so. We know that many of you are just as excited and passionate about this project as we were, and we, like you, hope that we can continue making content soon.
Many thanks for your support and understanding,

Hey Trainers! A quick update:
A couple weeks ago we began to face some technical issues that made the battles we conduct impossible to achieve. Shortly thereafter, we found a fix that seemed to resolve things permanently... or so we thought. However, we're now facing the same technical difficulties that plagued us earlier in the week. Working on a fix but as of right now the video schedule is going to have to be put on pause. Will keep you updated as much as we can and our deepest apologies for the inconvenience - believe me, we're just as upset about it!
Thanks for your patience and hope to get back in action as soon as possible! 🙇♂️
