Your continued support this year has been greatly appreciated. I'm closing the third year of producing music full-time, and it's only possible because of you. Thank you!

It means so much to know you've been listening and enjoying my work, and I appreciate the new listeners who've only discovered me this year alongside those who've been listening for years, possibly decades. I hope my ongoing work continues to bring you comfort. To know that my music is a part of the soundtrack of your life is humbling and an honour. I wish you all the best for the upcoming year.

My love to you all!

--- ALTUS BACK CATALOGUE ON CDr ---

These past few years, I've received requests for my back catalogue of music to be made available on CD. Given my discography (currently 60+ albums), it's unfeasible to produce discs for everything.

This is where you come in. Based on sales for downloads and streaming of albums, I've created an anonymous form asking what albums you would buy on CDr if they were available. Select as many as you like.

You can take part here:
forms.gle/mLGVdp3Ccm7jji767

If there's enough interest, I'll manufacture the top three albums chosen by you. If sales of those three albums cover the manufacturing cost, I'll consider producing the next three albums on the list.

An option to purchase all three at a discount will be available as well.

Some releases, such as the Excursion and Sidereal Cycle series, would be multi-disc sets. I'm treating those as "one album" for our purposes here.

This form will remain open until March 1, 2023.

--- WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2023 ---

Coming late January 2023, volume 2 of Loneward's Fractional Dimensions will be available on Bandcamp (download and CDr) and YouTube.

Due to its long-form nature, it's not appropriate for other streaming services. The plan is after four volumes are complete, alternate shorter versions will be available everywhere, including streaming services. They will also be name-your-price / free on Bandcamp as my thanks to you.

Fractional Dimensions Volume 3 will be released late 2023. I have plans to produce at least eight volumes (likely two a year), so I hope you enjoy long-form works. 😉

I'm currently working on the next Loneward album, titled Willoweald. I hope to have it released next spring, but plans are still tentative.

Altus continues to expand in genre exploration. Between April and June of this year, I created Descender. From time to time, my love of 90s EDM emerges from the dark, and this album is a love letter written for it. It's not to say this sounds exactly like 90s EDM, but the roots are there. The main Influences are Orbital and Spicelab. Plans for this album are tentative, but it's possible it will be released some time next year.

Once Willoweald is complete, I will begin work on the next Altus album, titled Solastalgia. The concepts explored in this album have been percolating for years, and will be a mix of ambient and post-rock. This was the original plan when I was working on Strength of Fate, but that album took on a life of its own and went in a completely different direction. Solastalgia will be slower and moodier in comparison, but still have moments of pure, raw emotion.

Beyond that, nothing is set in stone. I feel five albums a year is a decent number to aim for, though. Certainly enough to keep you entertained, but hopefully not too much to overwhelm you.

--- THANK YOU ---

If you've read this far, that means a lot to me. It tells me you're genuinely interested in my work. Thank you!

I'm coming up to the first year of producing music as a full-time job. I went in knowing the risks. But as patrons of my work, you've not let me down. In fact, you've surpassed everything I could've hoped for. 🧡

The muse was another concern. I had no idea if I would continue to be inspired working on music five days a week. Admittedly, I'm not working on producing every day. There are many facets to running a business. But I'm still in the studio much more than ever before. So far, the muse continues to lovingly be at my side.

I'm a strong believer in breaking down the barrier between musician and listener, so if you have anything to share or just want to say hi, don't hesitate to contact me here or at www.altusmusic.ca/contact.php

Lots of love to you all!
