Sometimes I'll hear a song and I'll think ahh I would love to make a tutorial for that and it makes me sad 🥲 I miss making videos for you all 💗 I still get messages from some of you saying thank you and I still come in and read the comments. I hope one day I can make videos again but until then, I hope you're all doing well, still playing, singing and loving music.

This is a really difficult post for me to make but I'm taking a break from making videos on YouTube and I want to be completely honest about why and what this means for the future of my channel.
The primary reason for me stopping making videos for now is my health. I've mentioned it a few times on YT and if you follow me on other socials, you've likely seen me talking about it. I have a chronic health condition and the last couple of years have been really ROUGH.
Unfortunately, all the different parts of what goes into making my piano tutorials, are all things that with my condition, I find very, very difficult and at many times completely impossible. More times than I'd like to admit, I've pushed through and made myself unwell. I pushed through because of how much I love teaching and how much my channel and audience mean to me but these instances over the last couple of years have been more often than not and I just can't keep going like that.
Struggling physically and mentally to make my videos has also changed my relationship with playing music and that makes me so sad. I found that I was only sitting at the piano to make videos and even then I was just feeling unwell and stressed when I was doing it. I started making my videos to share my love of music and the feeling of how good it feels to be able to play music that you love but in being so desperate to share that with everyone else, I ended up losing it myself. I tried to take the pressure off and just make videos when I felt able to but the nature of the content creation beast is that you always feel it breathing down the back of your neck when you're not working on something.
Of course the pandemic has played a big role in where I'm at with everything now too. Because of my current living arrangement, since the start of the pandemic I haven't had as much access to my piano as I did before. That made the windows in which I had a chance to record, really small and feel even more pressured.
My hope is that this isn't a permanent goodbye and that at some point my health will be at a point where I can make videos again but for now I have to do what's right for my health and I need to take the space to get my love of playing back again.
My final thoughts on having to make this decision are that, I hate it and it sucks. I tried everything to not have to come to this decision but I've had to accept the reality of what I need to do for myself right now. I uploaded my first tutorial on YouTube 13 years ago and I am so proud of what I've achieved here, none of which I could have done without the support of amazing viewers ❤ I'm all too aware of what a hellscape the internet can be sometimes, (especially comment sections) but I've felt so incredibly lucky to have an audience that have been (99.9%!) an absolutely joy to interact with. You've always been so kind with your words and so many of you have sent me lovely messages that have really moved and inspired me.
Of COURSE all my videos are staying up, so there's still a ton of stuff for you to learn here! I will still be reading my comments and messages if you need any piano help and I'm around on Twitter, Insta and Twitch (all @MuseChick), so if you wanted to come and hangout over there, then I would love to see you ❤
But for now, stay safe, stay kind and hopefully I'll see you soon ❤

So between my chronic illness flaring up pretty severely and the most ridiculous heatwave over here in the UK, I've just not been able to film 😩 I miss making videos already! But I'm listening to some songs and planning away so don't worry!

Unfortunately, it looks like most of us are going to be stuck indoors for a while! I'd love for my channel to be a place for distraction and learning while we're distancing and isolating, so give me ideas of songs you'd like to learn!
