All candidates for the upcoming 16th All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) general conference-cum-election 2024 have unanimously adopted a resolution pledging to participate peacefully in the electoral process.

This resolution was passed during a meeting convened by the Former ANSU Leaders' Forum (FALF) in Itanagar on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by FALF vice-chairman Likha Tongum and while the forum’s secretary Tadar Niglar was also present.

The gathering, according to the minutes of the meeting shared by Niglar on social media, aimed to foster unity and uphold democratic values among the candidates. The candidates agreed to adhere to FALF's decisions to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.

Notable candidates present in the meeting included Ashok Doka, Dopum Sonam, Lezen Gyadi, S D Loda and Sharma Singhi, all vying for the president's position.

Vice presidential candidates Lardak Murtem and Ramesh Maga (represented by Maga Vikash) were also in attendance, alongside general secretary hopefuls Lishi Tayo, Likha Tado (represented by Techi Tat), Toko Tabia, and Mai Aram, who all signed the resolution.

The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on the candidates' commitment to participating in the ensuing elections under FALF's supervision, monitoring, and guidance, reinforcing the organization's role in facilitating a fair election process.

It may be noted that the dates for the polls are yet to be announced.
