The Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) channel aims to discuss the skills to help staff working with people who have a mental illness or learning disability, defuse and manage potential conflict by using various forms of verbal and non – verbal communication or if required the physical skills to disengage from an aggressor and or to apply physical intervention / teamwork restraint techniques if necessary. It will focus on best practice guidelines in the field.
