Greetings all. I wanted to let you know that I have added a new, two-part video that I did specifically for families who are struggling with a loved one's addiction and associated trauma. Both parts (1 & 2) are included in this video. It is longer (a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes). If you are a family member of a loved one struggling with addiction and associated trauma, work with families who struggle with addiction and trauma, or you know a family who would benefit from this video, please forward it to them. Also feel free to forward it to any groups you are a member of that might benefit from it.

My name is Dr. Mike Barnes. I am a Ph.D. family therapist who is the Director of the Michael Barnes Family Institute at NRT Behavioral Health, Senior Clinical Advisor at NRTBH and the owner of Barnes Education and Consulting, LLC. in Denver, Colorado and Tampa, Florida. For the past seven years, I have been the Chief Clinical officer at Foundry Treatment Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Foundry is also an NRT program. NRT standing for the Next Right Thing! Over the years, I have taught at various universities, with my most recent faculty position in the MA Program in Counseling at the University of Colorado, Denver. I have the good fortune to be able to speak at conferences and invited presentations around the country. My areas of expertise are in working with traumatized families, families with trauma and addiction issues, and compassion fatigue. In 2023 I published a book titled "When the Solution Becomes the Problem: Helping Families Struggling with Addiction and Trauma."
