If you have visited my channel in the past few days, you may have noticed that a huge amount of videos missing, over 100 of them. They are not unlisted or private, they are just gone.
I want to clarify what happend and why it happened:
Last week I received multiple emails from YouTube (as my channel was part of the YPP) stating that I was using Nintendo's content without any significant or meaningful original commentary or educational value.
The content they are referring to was my old Mario Kart TV and Smash Bros clips, which no longer seem to be considered acceptable by YPP, although they are all produced and uploaded using Nintendo's official service to share them on the platform, which does not provide an option to add comment to them even if I wanted to, and they were never eligible for monetization anyway.
And just to be clear, Nintendo is not the one to blame this time, they have not sent me a single copyright claim or strike on any of my recent uploads, in the past they had their own rules and curation for their creators program (of which my channel was part of). This is just a self-imposed rule created by YouTube themselves, and they even state that it also applies to explicitly authorized content.
I didn't want to start a dispute against YouTube, so I decided to remove all clips mentioned above and any other videos that were flagged for one reason or another in the last 10 years just to avoid any potential risk to the channel in the future, it was tough to see years of upload gone in just a click of a button.
On the bright side, I backed everything up before removing them from the channel. I still don't know exactly what to do with these videos, I may repost the clips as compilations on my other social medias and songs as audio files somewhere else, I'll be posting a new update once I decide.
I'm really sorry for any inconvenience this event may have caused.
