Nimad, is a once in a lifetime record that documents the sonic tapestry of Nimadi Folk music from Madhya Pradesh, India and blends it with textures from all over the world, creating and inspiring a whole new palette of sounds that bring a new life to the pre existing world of folk tunes that have lived and passed on through generations in small communities.

This happened when 2 multi-instrumentalists, Bharat Chandore and Jayesh Malani, decided to pack their bags and gear and head to a small little village named Chichli, in Nimad, Madhya Pradesh, to spend a good 25 days, making a make shift studio in a ancestral mud house, between acres of Banana plantations, on the bank of river Narmada. They were scouting for different groups of folk musicians for a good 6 months before this.

The product was born through exploration of sonic textures, delicately preserving the rawness of Nimadi folk and yet that combine music from different parts of the world
