SONICO, created in Brussels (Belgium) in 2015, has rescued the repertoire of Eduardo Rovira, a key composer in the creation of "tango nuevo”. Often mistakenly considered ‘the other Piazzolla’, Rovira’s innovations achieved a creative fusion between the popular roots of tango and classical music in a bold synthesis, making his own imprint during the Buenos Aires vanguard of the 1960s.
The members of SONICO are Lysandre Donoso (FR/CL) - Bandoneón ; Carmela Delgado (FR/SP) - Bandoneón ; Stephen Meyer (USA/BE) - Violin ; Daniel Hurtado Jimenéz (SP) - Violin; Victor Guaita (SP); Guillaume Lagravière (FR) - Cello; Alejandro Schwarz (AR/FR) - Electric guitar; Ariel Eberstein (AR/BE) - Double bass; Ivo De Greef (BE) - Piano; Gaetan La Mela (BE) – Glockenspiel
