The Gold Nugget Museum, destroyed by the Camp Fire on November 8, 2018, was incorporated as Gold Nugget Days Inc. in 1970. Its mission has been to preserve and protect the Ridge heritage through the collection and display of local artifacts, and with community education programs. Groundbreaking celebrations for the Gold Nugget Museum were kicked off in 1978 by the reigning Gold Nugget Queen, and the official Grand Opening Celebration began with a ribbon-cutting by the 1980 Gold Nugget Queen on April 23, 1981.
The Gold Nugget Museum is now at its new location 475 Pearson Road.
With the dreams of expanding, the Gold Nugget Days, Inc. Board of Directors is also actively engaged in repairing and reconstructing the destroyed main museum site and the grounds surrounding it. With your continued support, the dream will become a reality; bigger, better, and more resilient than ever!
