How many of you have studied with Betty Azar's grammar books? If you haven't, it's very likely your teachers did! Betty Azar is a grammar powerhouse in our field. She has helped shape language instruction, and her work has impacted millions over the past decades. At 83, she is a legend! I have the tremendous honor of sharing an exclusive two-part interview with Betty on my WordPress blog. Part 1 will be posted on Valentine's Day. Although my blog is designed for teachers, I invite learners to visit later this week and enjoy her answers to my curious questions. It will be a reading challenge and a chance to hear the thoughts of someone who has seen English language instruction evolve over six decades!

Today on Immerse, I had a whole Spanish lesson expressing whether I understood something or not. In a restaurant setting, there are plenty of opportunities to ask for clarification. How many ways can you say, "I'm sorry. I don't understand" in English? I'll start the list:
I don't understand the menu.
This menu makes no sense to me.
