I would say my favourite track that I created this year for Melodie Music was a 90's influenced jungle track called While We Dream. It's got those Ellatronix vocal chops and flutes mixed in with some classic 90's jungle sounds. I had fun creating this one and I'm glad I got to personally enjoy and grow up in one of the last great decades of music in my opinion.

Over the past few years my faith and belief in myself as an artist has taken a bit of a battering and I've gone through some pretty dark periods and felt quite disillusioned with my journey as an artist. I've had to feel through a lot of grief, anger, pain and emotional addictions - you name it, I went through it, and I've definitely struggled these past few years, to keep going.
When your hungry, broke and trying to keep your head afloat it's been overwhelming, but I've kept going and kept putting one foot in front of the other even when I felt completely defeated some days and questioned if there was even any point in continuing. I've had to self reflect on where I was out of harmony with God's Love in my approach as an artist in what addictions I was chasing in this industry and the traps I was getting caught up in with social media and focusing on numbers, which was wasting a lot of my time and in the end left me feeling like a mouse on the wheel working hard but getting no where.
I've had to reevaluate, I've had to adjust and make changes to my approach, prioritise what's most important in how I engage my passion for music, and I've had to FEEL everything while also seeking out God's Love and reminding myself of God's Truth. I've shifted my focus into putting creations into the world that has more meaning and benefit to others while staying true to what I want to create, what I want to share, I've shifted my focus to putting creations into the world that is more lasting rather than fleeting, I've shifted my focus into creating more connections in real life rather than through a screen and working towards what I really want out of life.
It hasn't been easy but I'm much happier now on the other end of it (I'm sure there's still more to go through) but I'm thankful to God, Jesus, Mary, Divine Truth for giving me the tools, resources to navigate and get through these dark periods.
Here is a playlist of videos that have helped me over the past few years in following my dreams:

An awesome way to finish off the year. I've spent the last five weeks teaching music production, beatmaking and live looping and I've been really inspired seeing the young people get inspired by music and having fun with it.
As someone who didn't learn anything about music until my mid 20's as I didn't grow up with the privilege of lessons or learning an instrument at an early age I really struggled with and actually hated music lessons in high school. I found those lessons too hard, too technical and heavily focused on theory - to the point I lost interest because I was not at an emotional capacity to absorb that level of information at that time.
But I loved learning the words to different songs and would listen to music for hours on end in my bedroom and practice singing and rapping to my favourite artists. I had such a love for music when I was young but no tools to nurture that love in a way that would engage me and help me to develop over time.
So, my main goal when I facilitate workshops like this is to get young people engaged, having fun and getting hands on straight away and music technology is such a powerful tool to make that happen especially when there are no foundational skills like knowing how to play an instrument or understanding of music theory.
Anyone can have a go regardless of experience, have fun and also build foundational skills like learning how to count, timing, understanding layering and building up a song in real time just through live looping and pressing colourful buttons. These are all great skills to introduce young people to music making that they can build on over time. The theory will come later when they are ready.
The joy and pride that young people walk away with who don't really have any experience in music is beautiful and inspiring to see.
