In this theory, I’ll discuss the end of the world in One Piece and how it came about.

First of all, much is based on Norse Mythology.
Oda often takes many elements from mythologies and alters them.
Elbaph is therefore no different and very much directed at the Vikings.
Let’s start!
Ragnarok was a series of events that led to the world ending and being reborn.
The first decisive event was Loki indirectly killing the god Baldur.
He manipulated his blind brother Hödur to shoot him.
Both were sons of Odin.
This resulted in Loki being locked up and surrounded by a venomous snake.

We are currently in Elbaph’s Underworld, which is very much directed at Niflheim, but this winter is also a sign of the Mighty Winter, which was a consequence of Baldur’s death.
The Mighty Winter was a year-long winter that caused a lot of war.
Loki has been chained up for 6 years now.
Has the Underworld of Elbaph only been so full of snow for 6 years?
Could Elbaph also be in the midst of a civil war, as Elbaph is also very close to Alabasta?
In Norse Mythology, there are two siblings, Sol and Mani, Sun and Moon.

Loki might actually be Fenrir like a lot of people had speculating including myself.
Loki’s eyes are covered because he would transform when he sees the moon.
One of the bigger events was the wolves Skoll and Hati, the sons of Fenrir, had been chasing the sun and moon since the beginning of their lives (Sol and Mani), and had caught them after a long time, just like all the stars in the cosmos.
Then the cosmos broke apart (Darkness).
Luffy is the sun god who may be defeated by a certain person and thus the spirit in Elbaph breaks.
I think this person will be Shiki and is exactly the same person who waited for the Straw Hats on the coast of Elbaph.

Loki will be freed and transform back into the Fenrir when he sees the moon (the same as the Minks).
It is a legendary Devil Fruit and the user may not be able to freely control this power but is required to transform at full moon.

Loki calls himself the sun god who wants to bring the end to the world.
I think he’s referring to the Celestial Dragons as the whole world works for them and pays them.
There are too many corrupt kingdoms to draw a line and just purge Mary Geoise.

I also said that King Harald may have had the legendary Devil Fruit in exchange for becoming a Celestial Dragon.
Loki didn’t like it at all, since Elbaph was on the opposite side and he knew it from scriptures.
The next big trigger will be Akainu.
I have made a theory in the past about Surtur and hope he will appear, but @merlinidc has mentioned that Akainu could symbolize him.
@3SkullJoe had a great theory about Akainu coming to Elbaph.
I think that when Akainu learns that Loki is freed, that he will make his move, not only because he knows that Robin and Saul escaped from the buster call and will meet, but also because Loki is a great treat to the entire World Government and has betrayed them.
Akainu will be defeated in Elbaph, but it will be the reason the Adam’s tree / Yggdrasil will be destroyed.
Quite suitable for the character with the greatest destructive power.
King Harald knew about this prophecy and called Loki the cursed prince.
He wanted to save his own by offering the legendary Devil fruit to the Celestial Dragons and wanted to live in Mary Geoise.
The irony is that, as so often, the prophecy only comes true because of actions.
After victory over Akainu we will sail to Mary Geoise / Asgard for the final battle, where the gods will fall and the new world’s dawn will rise.
This will make the prophecy of the past come true.
The whole world will sink in the ocean and people will be saved by the Fishmen and the Noah.
Luffy will destroy the Red Line and thus also the Fishmen Island.
The Fishmen will live on the surface under the real sun.
Joy Boy kept his promise made to Poseidon in the past.
