I used to work as a zookeeper, but I left due to feelings of frustration with budget limitations, mismanagement, and issues with leadership.
Ultimately, I felt the animals weren't getting the care they deserved, and I felt powerless to do anything about it. My ideas to update enclosures on minimal budget spend fell on deaf ears, the keeper I reported to refused to teach me anything and spent more time hiding in a shed on their phone than actually working, and when I found partnerships with local businesses who were willing to offer free "ugly" produce to enhance the animals diets, 1 was told that wasn't my job, not to interfere with the status quo, and the project was abandoned.
However, I did love the animals tremendously, and educating the public was such a pleasure. These are some of the few pictures I took of my time as a zookeeper, before I left in order to go back to Animal Education ❤️

I’ve been navigating a few health issues lately which have made me self-conscious and off-camera longer than I’ve wanted to be. But I’m in the mend, and just uploaded a 3 minute short of me feeding 5 different snakes. I hope you’ll enjoy it, and I’ll see you super soon!

Each year I choose a word to carry with me 🦊
In 2023, my word for the year was “Fearless”. I wrenched myself out of some nonsense and moved across the country to the ocean so I could breathe again.
In 2024, my chosen word for the year was “Heal”, and I prioritized EMDR therapy to unravel all the tangles in my mind. It was tough, and caused my hair to fall out, but still worth it, because the only way through it *is* through it.
For 2025, my word is “YEET”. It’s one of my favorite words of all time and makes me laugh. It has kinetic, playful energy. How will I apply this word? If I have an idea - YEET! Let’s do something about it! If someone shouldn’t be part of my life anymore, too bad! They get the YEEEEET! Forward, joyful energy only in 2025.
So goodnight, world. I wish you all tremendous health, wealth, and happiness this coming year.
Happy New Yeet, Creatures!! 🚀

Hey Creatures! I need your a-hiss-stance! 🐍
I’ve been wanting to be more mindful of the content I release on my channel in 2025. Id like more in-depth, documentary style content which explores topics which animalcentric people will find interesting and learn from.
As a “practice” video for this style, I’d like to take you behind the scenes of what it’s like to be at the forefront of reptile innovations, and show you an exclusive, in-depth video of why I work so closely with Zen Habitats - their amazing backstory, the real people behind this small company, and their vision for the future of pet reptiles - elevating standards everywhere.
What aspects of the business and questions would you like me to include and explore? ⬇️
Thanks so much!!!

I am so proud of the person you are. You're the rare kind of good who makes life better with your presence. I think it's very telling that you're so tremendously loved by so many truly wonderful people, and that every dog without exception gravitates to you and melts into your safe and kind energy.
I am grateful that I get to love and celebrate you everyday (just as you do with me) and I hope that your deepest wishes and hopes for the year ahead come to you in abundance. Happy Birthday, Jay. We love you 🖤🦇
