Dancing Peacock designed cultural evenings on 29th and 30th March marking 10 years of Farriery Institute Dundlod, the only Institute to learn farriery in India.

The first evening featured an intimate concert by the Langas of Barmer and Jodhpur, showcasing centuries old folk songs with instruments like the sindhi sarangi, dholak, and khadtal. This small gathering was organised on the terrace of the institute under the stars.

The following evening was equally amazing, with performances by Manganiyars and Kalbeliya dancers from different villages across Rajasthan. Highlight of the evening was a group of talented kids who joined the senior Manganiyars onstage bridging generations through music and dance.
This cultural evening was celebrated on 30th March which also happens to be the day of Rajasthanā€™s foundation.

From majestic heritage forts to vibrant festivals, Rajasthan Day holds immense importance as it marks the formation of the state of Rajasthan on March 30th, 1949. It's a day to reflect upon our shared history, diverse culture, and the remarkable contributions of Rajasthan to the world.

As an organization, Dancing Peacock endeavors to organize unique concerts and cultural events in collaboration with grassroots communities in Rajasthan. Our aim is to showcase the rich folk traditions of Rajasthan to the world, thereby strengthening the foundation of Rajasthani folk culture globally.

ā€œWe are glad to have started a unique folk music festival that goes beyond just a select few popular renditions, and showcases our rich folk repertoire including rare and slowly fading folk music forms. Such ā€˜ground-upā€™ community festivals are critical for organic conservation of our folk traditions and they also prepare a strong ground for sustainable rural tourism.ā€
