This year we had two lightning talks at Blender Conference that happened back to back: "Blender in Germany" and "Guess the Prompt". Regarding the former - yes, we are going to scale the Blender in 2025!

In 2024 we had the delight to present once again at the Blender Conferece. This time the project was together with Marcus Liebich and Anja Cambria Oellermann from HfK Bremen. Topic was the creation of interactive 3D web environments using the Blender to Hubs Exporter and the recent extension "Behaviour Graphs". The result is the possibility to script interactive elements using nodes like in Unity, Unreal or Godot.

The bevel node in Cycles finally works with nVidia OptiX in Blender 2.92. It is pretty useful alternative to the bevel modifier. Here is a comparison between the node and the modifier. On the top left you see the original mesh which has self intersections. On bottom left a bevel modifier is applied which does not work on the self-intersecting parts.
On the top right the bevel node which works with self intersections where it looks as if the pieces are welded together which is very useful albeit the quality is not as good as the bevel modifier. On the bottom right the results from the bevel node where baked to a normal map which improves the quality a bit.
