Once upon a time, in clubbing’s dark wasteland, two magicians of the Grenoble scene - Michel Amato, the shadow-dweller known as The Hacker, and his partner Alexandre Reynaud, already hard at work constructing the fine discography of GoodLife (also with Olivier Raymond, aka Oxia) - met Mike Levy, back then an up-and-coming new hope known as Gesaffelstein, and David Rimokh, both from nearby Lyon. The alliance of the more experienced duo with the two newcomers resulted in a four-headed project, inspired by classic French film noir of Blier or Corneau, rockers’ dirty leather and a dark aesthetic imagined by the talented Pierre-Jean Buisson. The Zone imprint was born in 2009.
