We Will Remember Them

An important weekend of remembrance for many around the world today. As we remember those who have given their lives to protect the freedom and values they believed in, to serve their families, communities and their countries.

Let’s respect the massive significance of this day for so many people who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

This remembrance day falls on a significant day for us all, as we are given a stark reminder that humanity is yet to learn the lessons of previous generations as atrocities continue.

Let’s remember that true legacy is not what we leave with someone, it’s what we leave in someone. The greatest gift we can pass on to our children is an education. At the core of education lies values, morals, virtues. These things transcend generations. We need leaders with courage who are guided by a moral compass, now more than ever.

Remembering today; the lessons of the past, the sacrifice made by so many, is a vital part of guiding the future.

“Is it your duty to be ‘in shape’ as a parent?”

I've been fortunate enough to interview or be interviewed on over 250 podcasts and have loved them... but nothing beats 'in person interviews' like this one.

I was joined by @jasongrima, owner of @the365physique and the Lifestyle Hub Podcast (Check it out).

Jason has a unique approach to Personal Training; his business is all about community and lifestlye design... and the transformations he's created speak for themselves.

If you are a parent thats struggling with their health, fitness or nutrition - then we made this one for you!

Here's what you get for 60 minutes of your time when you listen to this one:

✅Why habits aren't just important, they are the whole game.

✅ How to stick to them ^ once you have chosen them

✅ The biggest mistakes people make with their training.

✅ How to find the right PT for you (this one may surprise you).

✅ How (and why) as parents its our duty to be in shape.

✅ Why tracking your sleep could actually be a curse.

✅ Steps, obviously my favourite subject. Why you aren't doing enough.

Jason also shared with us his nunchuck skills and then I threw him in an Ice bath for 5 minutes to test his resilience. Viking style. He passed the test.

Thanks for coming on Jason, brilliant to have you at the dojo 🙏🏻

The amazing Angela Soudi joined us this week on  ‪@TheWarriorAcademy‬ podcast!

In this episode we’re talking about Entrepreneurship and answering key questions like…

Nature or nurture, is my child born an entrepreneur?

How can I spot the signs or traits of entrepreneurship in my kids?

Is the entrepreneurial spirit dampened in the educational system or do schools encourage or provide for this route too?

Is entrepreneurship over glamourised in social media?

How can I support my child to become more entrepreneurial if that’s their route?

Once we got through all this super interesting stuff the conversation just flowed and Angela started dropping knowledge bombs and insights on topics like…

Resilience and how to encourage it…
Bullying and the long term impact…
Parenting without a guide book…
Power of the mind in curing diseases…

Angela articulates the challenges that parents face with such clarity, and as a mum and business owner her advice comes from lots of experience.

Thanks for joining Angela Soudi can’t wait to release this one in November!

It was a pleasure to have @kellymariehodgkin at the dojo for the @warrior_academy podcast!

If you are in Dubai and run a business you’ve likely heard of Kelly already… but do you really know her story?

I was blown away hearing it in person.

For the Warrior Academy Podcast Kelly openly shares her inspiring story of Navigating foster care and homelessness to building multiple
highly successful businesses in such a humbling and authentic way.

Kelly and I share a passion for supporting small businesses and had an awesome discussion covering so many valuable topics for parents and business owners…

Where does resilience really stem from?

Why we shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help and why mentoring is so important.

Why planning is a super power, how anyone can do it and the impact it makes long term!

How your past does not dictate your future.

What drives us? Where does that energy come from?

What challenges do entrepreneurs face starting their business in the Middle East?

I sat down with Dubai’s most authentic head teacher, Brett Givern on ‪@TheWarriorAcademy‬ podcast yesterday!

We didn’t waste any time as we went straight to the heart of the deepest concerns parents have when it comes to schooling…

Can schools be bully free or is it part of the human condition?

What’s more important, character development or Academics?

Are we analyzing teachers performance properly or is our focus just on the grades their students achieve?

Do parents place too much pressure on schools to achieve every aspect of their children’s holistic development?

How do schools nurture and develop soft skills in young people?

Have schools evolved from the industrial era “one size fits all” approach?

How can we encourage good behavior without dimming a child’s light and encouraging them to challenge the status quo?

What challenges do expat parents face? What is the “third culture” that Dubai kids experience?

What one major piece of advice does Brett have for other head teachers?

How can we encourage children to understand sustainability?

This episode was brilliant, we could have talked for hours.

Brett has such a clear passion for his work and a depth of knowledge that makes this episode such a brilliant listen for parents.

It was a pleasure to have Rama Kanj with us today at ‪@TheWarriorAcademy‬ for another epic podcast!

Rama is an educational psychologist and PHD candidate, this episode was incredibly insightful… we rapidly get to the root of some of the major concerns parents face:

Bullying, building resilience, emotional repression, emotional regulation, confrontation, the educational system, choosing the right school, working with children with additional needs, disruptive behavior and loads more…

We answer questions like…

Is my child badly behaved or is their “disruptive behavior” actually beneficial in the long run?

Is there a perfect school for our kids or should we take the pressure off schools and place the responsibility to fully develop their character on our own shoulders?

What is the most important aspect of raising children, the foundation that supports their long term growth?

Do schools have a one size fits all approach that stems from the industrial eta… and is it their fault?

How can we prevent our kids becoming entitled?

The list goes on and on, when I say you don’t want to miss this one.. I mean it! Stay tuned 🙌🏻

I was honored to be joined today by Adam Newman, @adamnewman.me for ‪@TheWarriorAcademy‬ Podcast!

Adam moved from the US to live in the Favelas of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, to launching @favelainc and working in over 100 Favelas in the city transforming thousands of lives through his social enterprise.

We talked about the importance of resilience, innovation, challenging the status quo, encouraging “positive disruptive behavior” and how bullying influences Adams life (has anyone noticed a trend here yet?)

As The Warrior Academy and @thebatesfoundation.official aim to launch our scholarship Academy in the Favelas of Rio De Janeiro to help mentor under privileged children within the next 6 months, we had lots to talk about.

This inspiring conversation brings together the power of human connection, the impact of travel, discovering identity and searching for a deeper purpose… all in one episode.

No half measured with these episodes!

Due to launch within the next 7 weeks!
Thank you Adam 🙌🏻#braziliance
