Today marks ten years to the day that we uploaded our first video to our YouTube channel. Almost 200 videos later and we’re still going. There are always more flavors to explore and drinks to research. From the very beginning it has always been me in front of the camera and Mrs. Better Cocktails at Home behind the camera.
We never had any grand plans for our little show-- we just filmed drinks we enjoyed and thought other people might want to know about. We’re almost to 7,000 subscribers and 900,000 views, so I guess other people like what we do okay.
One thing that I never expected was meeting so many cool people through our videos. I feel like I can go to many different cities and connect with a person to grab a drink with. YouTube has a reputation for negativity (as most social media sites do), and while we got the occasional jerk comment, we’ve had a really good experience.
While I’m happy with where we are with our show, there is more I think we can do. We’ll get there eventually.
Our youngest son was quite insightful the other day. “You’re a better dad than YouTuber. You should play video games on YouTube.”
I’m OK with being a better dad, but we’re excited about what we’re doing at Better Cocktails at Home.

Has anybody compared the old 'elemakule tiki bitters to the new one? I'm astounded by the difference. There are a couple added ingredients, but they also must have changed the process of making the bitters.
The old was rich in spice in low in bitter. The new is the opposite. Drinks that I used this in previously won't even work now. Does anybody know when the change was made?

I've been working on cat proofing my bottle storage. Has anybody done anything like this before? Any pre-made products that do something similar?

What's the drink of the summer so far? We've been jumping around a bit, but have been doing some tequila drinks lately.

What do people think about bottles that include tasting notes? Do you like being told what to taste?

Hey there! You're likely somebody like us, interested in cocktails. Thanks for watching our series.
Years ago, Brooke Johnson and Brian Johnson started Better Cocktails at Home to show people that great cocktails can be made at home. And, just so you know that our show is real, we took a bit of a hiatus as we renovated our house, had some kids, and dealt with all of the other things life throws at you.
Hopefully, you're able to enjoy a well made cocktail every once in a while like we do. Thanks for watching our show. We really appreciate our fans. We love meeting them, hanging out with them at bars, and being as helpful as we can.
We just finished building a brand new home bar and we're excited to share it with you in upcoming videos. We'll be making tiki drinks, classics, originals, home bartender drinks and tons more.
Thanks again and cheers.
