Hopefully the new Netflix Narnia (untitled as of now) is the Silver Chair. BBC did a great job back in the 90's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaw3S...

I asked a friend: name a current director that's known for great films of levity, heart, and humor (and not kids movies). He didn't have an answer. Today we have hacks that still push the redundant mean-spirited cynicism, dark humor, and shock value (thinking they are "edgy and original"). Guess we still have Wallace and Gromit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0ZGf...

"Joker 2", "The Substance", "Megalopolis". The wave of over-the-top bombastic cynical moral-relativistic filmmaking continues at nauseum. Whatever happened to just a good old time at the theatre with a solid moral of the story? (And this rebukes the cringy PG fluff as well, that end of the spectrum is just as terrible). Maybe everything HAS been written and Hollywood (in it's desperate hour of the need for the "new") is pathetically exploiting the only two avenues of originality left: depravity and perversion.

How long with this "carrot on the end of stick" continue for the perfect cinema camera? Fact is a film is moving and feeding an army, without that kind of money, you can't make your dream feature film. Money comes first then the camera, otherwise the camera is only used to film camera tests of your girlfriend in a forest in slow mo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbFQS...
