Mercedes Cheung (Zhang) violinist, speaks in fluent French, English and Mandarin, she has been awarded full scholarships from the Juilliard School of Music Pre-College(age 8), New England Conservatory of Music and The Royal Conservatory of Music. In 2013, Mercedes joined the Crans-Montana Classics in Switzerland and has been invited to solo with Maestro Shlomo Mintz together for the Vivaldi: Concerto for 4 violins, she is the Silver Medalist of the "2014 Teen's Talent Show" - American Youth Talent and Arts Competition. Mercedes (age 10) made her Carnegie Hall Solo Debut Recital (complete set of 24 Caprices by Paganini), same year, she has recorded the same repertoire (in one take) on DVD & CD. She has master classes and lessons with Shlomo Mintz, Zakhar Bron, David Cerone, Sungsic Yang, & lessons with Robert Lipsett & Joel Smirnoff, & master class with Soovin Kim, currently studies with Donald Weilerstein & his father, Mercedes plays on a Josef Guadagnini 1773
