'Little Rope' is an album we wrote from our hearts, where the music allowed us to grapple with the darkness, each song a way make to sense of things. That said, not every chapter fit neatly into this book of songs, so they remained on the edges of the story, until now. We wanted to step back into these songs, reimagine and revisit them, both for ourselves and for the listener. The different arrangements expose the songs anew, getting at their core or the outer edges. Frayed Rope was a way for us to travel through the songs and perhaps arrive at a different destination.

Sleater-Kinney first emerged from Olympia, WA in 1994. The groupâs 1997 landmark album, Dig Me Out, earned a spot on Rolling Stoneâs âThe 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.â During 2015, they returned from a decade-long hiatus with the triumphant No Cities To Love, which closed out 2015 on dozens of year-end lists. In 2019, they teamed up with St. Vincent to produce The Center Wonât Hold followed by a North American and European tour. Path of Wellness, their tenth studio and first self-produced album was released in 2021 before embarking on a co-headlining tour with Wilco that included iconic venues such as Red Rocks and more. To commemorate 25 years of their iconic record, Dig Me Out, the band gathered artists across genres to reimagine the 13 original tracks. Artists include Courtney Barnett, St. Vincent, Wilco, The Linda Lindas, NNAMDĂ, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, and more. Their most recent record to date, Dig Me In: A Dig Me Out Covers Album was released on October 21, 2022.
