DISCLAIMER- THIS IS NOT A VENT. THIS IS AN EXPLANATION FOR MY BEHAVIORS IN THE DISCORD SERVERS FOR THE M.A PROJECTS I'M IN. Anyways, we need to chat.
For those who work with me in M.A projects, you might know that I have a bad habit of completely ignoring my responsibilities as a participant and not responding to messages or communicating with anyone. The truth is, about three years ago, I made a huge mistake that caused me to lose my entire online friend group. That's why I wasn't in any M.A projects for a year. I was afraid I'd mess up again and have consequences of a similar scale. This was worsened shortly after I rejoined the community when I tried getting back into contact with one of my old friends from that group through an M.A project they were hosting, and they still didn't feel comfortable talking to me and even dropped me from the M.A project so we wouldn't have to interact. And then, about three months ago, my mental health hit an all-time low and I had go to a place to receive treatment. Ever since I came home, I haven't touched Discord at all. I'm not using any of this as an excuse. I'm simply using it as an explanation as to why I've been so neglectful.
I'm still deciding what to do. If I should drop all my current parts myself, only drop some of them, drop none of them, etc... But long story short, if you're an M.A project host working with me and you're fed up with my lack of communication, feel free to drop me. I deserve it after my lack of responsibility, and I've accepted that, so you won't have to worry about making me feel bad.
For those of you who are worried about me based off of that, PLEASE DON'T BE. My mental health has actuality been improving a ton ever since I came home and I think that after warming back up to Discord interactions, I could get back into participating in M.A projects again. But don't expect anything M.A project wise for probably another month or two. I might still upload, just not M.A project parts specifically. So stay safe, take care of yourself, and I'll see you next time I post.

Someone: Why is Milla your comfort character?
Me: I really appreciate the way she was written and how, even though she's experienced some pretty messed up trauma, it doesn't define who she is in any way. She's not brooding or angsty, she's quite the opposite. She's cheerful upbeat and kind to basically everyone. It's really encouraging for someone like me who's had traumatic experiences as well to see someone who isn't defined by the terrible things that happened to them.
Someone: Why is Raz your comfort character?
Me: IDK cute kid character go brrr

I want there to be a pet simulator game where you can customize the pet. And I don't just mean giving it different outfits or changing the fur color. I mean straight-up altering its anatomy, changing what type of eyes it has, giving/removing horns and other features, maybe even altering its abilities. Basically like Spore if it was a pet simulator instead of a survival game. Feel free to steal this idea if you want.

A message for any authors/aspiring authors that follow me: We live in an age where it's easy to write something off as a failure if it doesn't become a worldwide hit. It's easy to get discouraged when thinking about the fact that your work will probably never be as popular and profitable as something like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. But it doesn't have to be. because that character you're writing? It could be someone's future comfort character. That joke you're writing? It could be someone's ray of sunshine in a dark moment in their life. That quote you're writing? It could be the thing that helps someone feel seen. If this past year has taught me anything, it's that you don't need the entire world to know who you are to live a fulfilling life. You don't need a colossal worldwide fandom for your book to be a success. Sometimes a small cult following is enough. Plus, in my opinion, small fandoms tend to be a lot more nice and chill anyways. I feel like we focus too much on making things that mean a little to a lot of people as opposed to a lot to a few people. So find a target audience and focus on that. It can be as oddly specific a target audience as you want. What matters is that you focus on making the story the best it can be to those people as well as yourself and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

For the love of god, can the book community PLEASE drop the mentality that the only possible way fictional romances can be enjoyed is through projection!? Crap like this is the reason that aroace people get judged for consuming romance media. The book community in general needs to move past the mentality that books are only ever read by white cishet women and occasionally acknowledge that some aroace people exist. Sorry if I sound uncharacteristically angry, but I'm just fed up with this community's heteronormativity even outside of this.

Pinterest is great because an image's caption will be a tender romantic fanfic and the image itself will be this

That quirky moment when people in the lit community say that TikTok is the best possible way to market your book while neglecting to mention that not only are almost all the authors that got popular because of TikTok straight white cis people, but also that general minority content creators have been saying for years that TikTok surprises their posts and actively pushes hateful content onto people's feeds. Screw everything, I hate it here.

Hot take: the Cars movies aren't that bad. ... Okay, the second one is bad, but the other two are fine. The first is honestly mediocre and I mostly like it because of nostalgia, but I do like the small town setting. The third one especially is a pretty decent film. I appreciate the somewhat more realistic and mature pacing and the writing doesn't feel as kid-pandering as you'd expect from the franchise. Additionally, I unironically love how the environments are designed in the third film. Sure, it's typical photorealism, but it has a lot more atmosphere than most photorealistic backgrounds in animated films. But IDK what are your thoughts?

I once had a dream that Psychonauts 2 got DLC that required the Tony Hawk skateboard controller to play and that should tell you everything you need to know.
FR, my name is Ani (pronounced ah-nee) I'm a she/her/it agender, and I do art and animation as a hobby, with my main media interest being Psychonauts. I want to eventually make an original story, but I currently don't know if I should make it a book or a show or a game or whatever. Stick around if you want to see silly little animations of the funny brain ppl
