ORIGINAL HISTORIC, CULTURAL VIDEO ARCHIVE of THE TUCSON WESTERN INTERNATIONAL TELETHON and CHARLES A. BROWN.
In the mid 1980's I was Co-Producer, Editor & Camera Op of an amazing wacky weekly LIVE improvisational comedy, variety and musical entertainment TV show, commonly called "The TWIT Show", an acronym for THE TUCSON WESTERN INTERNATIONAL TELETHON.
TWIT was cablecast LIVE from Tucson's Public Access Channel 37, carried on Cox Cable, every Friday night, from 9pm to 11pm, spanning July 20th 1984 to 1987. TWIT featured over 100 different LIVE Tucson bands musical performers, oodles of variety acts, sketches, break dancers, local entertainment news, comedic interviews and improvisation. Local polititions being funny, intintionally.
TWIT also featured LIVE, barely censored phone calls from our Tucson cable audience. TWIT was a barometer of local Tucson culture and times -- TV for the people / by the people.
