I remember the day I received my diagnosis, long before I was hired at the nail salon. I was in despair, overwhelmed by uncertainty and fear. It felt like my world was collapsing around me.
I would never wish this pain on another person.
I remember the first time I set foot into my salon. It was small, run-down, and low-quality. Despite everything, I found solace in my new occupation. I appreciated it.
I also remember how they refused to pay me. Requests to aid me throughout my illness. This was the straw that broke the camel's back.
