I would like to greatly apologize for any repercussions that may have occurred at the beginning of stream last night. If you caught that.
The game audio doubled up and was way too loud.
I feel bad about that audio issue. πββοΈ
I did catch it quickly, and you won't find a VOD with the mess up now.
I have a *Source Defaults* OBS plugin installed now that should make it so this issue doesn't crop up again. Game audio goes to the single audio bus, and nowhere else, on new game sources.
This streaming thing is heckuva lot to manageβ and I'm finally getting the hang of things! Just sorry that happened!

So, what's next? Well, I'm going to need a week or two to decompress. I've been really busy.
I do want to get back to making videos and working on projects, but my brain is saying "stop". It's time to slow down and recollect my thoughts y'all.

I've got good news! My computer is back up and running!
TL;DR - I was having some computer troubles! By the end of this all, Windows and Linux have been reinstalled and refreshed!
Turns out the issue was one thing: DUST.
Well, one issue. The Linux reinstall was another issue.
As I was already preparing to reinstall Windows 10, my troubleshooting led me to the hardware. The crashes were occurring in both operating systems, and they were happening just as soon as the GPU encountered any significant load. For Windows, that was right at login.
I had it happen only once in Ubuntu, and there on out the black screens actually got *more* frequent. Windows safe mode was always working fine.
Even though that stood out to me, I did try cycling in and out hardware components to narrow it down.
Giving the graphics card a little bit of a cleaning fixed everything. The layer of dust that was on the backplate was causing some electrical anomalies to happen which was tripping a protective shut-off for the card/PCIe lane.
In the process of getting Windows set back up! (plus optimizing how I use it this time, too!)

It's finally done! This video was a long one to produce, subtitling everything was a huge task. Definitely the most ambitious when it comes to closed captioning so far for me, given that there's two languages. The music is another storyβ but it worked out well I think. Would mean a lot if you checked this one out; And also, do you like this sort of game? I played a lot of THPS back in the day, so this is right up my alley.
