Years before Americana music earned its own category at the Grammy Awards, Steve Forbert pioneered the genre's mix of folk, roots-rock, and richly delivered storytelling. He's been a torchbearer of that sound for more than four decades, navigating the twists and turns of an acclaimed career that's taken him from gold records to Grammy nominations.
Steve Forbert is releasing his 21st studio record "Daylight Savings Time" on August 16, 2024 on the Blue Rose Music label. Produced by Steve Greenwell in Asbury Park, it features contributions from Aaron Comess, Byron House, Gurf Morlix, and Rob Clores.
The ten tracks on "Daylight Savings Time" showcase Forbert's keen observations on growing older in America, while still looking forward to tomorrow. 45 years after inviting us to meet him in the middle of the day, his lyrics and melodies continue to resonate with legions of loyal fans.
A member of the Mississippi Music Hall of Fame, Forbert is now an elder statesman of Americana music.
