Well, let's just say my Flicka 20 has morphed into an amazing Westsail 32: hey it's still a full keel that will give one heart failure in a marina! My "new" boat is named after the ancient Sumerian goddess Tiamat - she is part of ancient Mesopotamian history and is depicted as a primordial goddess of the ocean & chaos, representing the saltwater sea. So along with the history of powerful goddesses & my wonderful Westsail 32, I am still learning lessons by someone starting sailing late in life...with a fearful family in the wings, convinced I will drown at the dock or "on the water"!
Please join me while I do many of these things for the first time - work on my diesel engine, figure out refrigeration wiring, ensure watermaker works, check out the windvane, keep-or-toss mast steps, remove a head (again!), check out the mast deck step & rigging, learn to reef my cutter rig (yeah!) And, as always: "Attitude determines whether it is an ordeal or an Adventure"
