🔴 100 DAYS OLD 🔴

A glimpse of what's brewing at @better_bettas_india !!

One of our 100 days old SUPER RED fries that have been jarred about 10 days back. This is one from the batch of fries of our last reel. It's amazing how they change their colours as they grow up.

🍄 TOP VIEW OF BETTA HENDRA BIOTOPE 🍄

The biotope is doing really well and so are the hendras. Here's how the biotope looks like from the top. As you can see there's a mushroom growing out of the bogwood. They keep coming up after every 3-4 days and then dry out after the lights are turned on! It's so amazing!

Meanwhile, to a huge surprise, the hendras have already started spawning!!
Last night while I was about the turn off the lights, I saw a small bubblenest in one corner of the tank. I was very intrigued and on looking closer, I saw that there were already some eggs in the nest!!
It was in such a corner that i couldn't take a photo or video of it.

I will try to take a pic or video of the male with the nest if that's possible. Otherwise I'll just keep updating without the pics/ vids lol

🚨 BIOTOPE UPDATE 🚨

Our little Betta mahachaiensis biotope breeding project is what can be called a "partial success".
Although most of the babies didn't make it, the only one who did makes up for it, at least as a first project of its kind in my personal experience.
She looks absolutely amazing and at only about 3 months of age has stunning colours, form and has also started developing eggs in her tummy!!

This has been a truly unique and beautiful experience to go through the whole process. Thanks to everyone here and on YouTube who has followed this journey so far.
Now that she is big enough to be jarred, she has been jarred right before posting this and the biotope setup has been allotted to another wild, critically endangered species of Betta! And this time they are F0 or wild caught!!

Finally we gotta lay hands on a beautiful pair of hellboy bettas! There were a few other similar looking pairs as well, but we felt like this to be the best!

Strains like these always fascinate us at @better_bettas_india
This specific pair hails from Indonesia and is truly an example of classic hellboy patterns.
The female is equally beautiful if not more!!

🐲 SNOW WHITE RED DRAGON STAR TAIL HMPK 🐲

Presenting another one of our favourite patterns!
My phone's camera can't really do justice to the beauty of this fish. Will try to get a better photo/ video later.

The dragon scale betta is a wonder to look at. These bettas have prominent scales that are often a metallic color, resembling a thick layer of ‘dragon scale’ armor; these scales are usually lined with darker edges to give even more depth and prominence. While many dragon scales are copper metallic, they have been bred to express most color variations in several varieties of fin types and markings.
