Hello folks! Just a smol check in.
First: long story short, I have chronic pain that's unfortunately flared up over the last couple of months and has gotten much worse. The pain is so bad at times that I can't even sit at the computer, let alone do much work. I have at least two more Media Literacy Guidebook videos in the pipeline, which I'll be working on as soon as I'm able to do so. I appreciate your patience with me on this!
Second: These will be the last two guidebook videos. I'm... not quite sure where to take the direction of the channel after these videos are done. I'd still like to create short documentaries, such as No Lone Wolves and Howling, but beyond that, I'm stumped. I'd like to make some game analysis videos, but I worry that the scene, such as it is, is pretty saturated on that front. What are your thoughts? Would that be something you'd like to see? I'm also open for suggestions.
Thanks for sticking around with me for this long. Hope you're having a wonderful summer (or winter for my folks in the global south!), and staying at a comfortable temperature. :)

Good evening! I'm still alive, but I've been dealing with chronic pain and some disability issues. It's been a rough couple of months, and I appreciate your patience.
That said, this week is ~*Media Literacy Week*~! You know how much I love talking about it - obviously ;) - so if I can figure out how to OBS with YouTube, I'll be doing a Live to discuss media literacy, why it's still needed, and more if time allows. Once it's sorted out I'll make a premiere or some sort of announcement. YouTube eludes me.
Hope to see you there!

good morning! (it's 4am as i write this - the summer heat really messes with me, so normally sleep during the day and do some work at night. what's it like for you when it's too hot?)
here's a tiny sneak peek at the next episode of the media literacy guidebook. we're going to discuss semiotics and codes, and why they're important to understand when it comes to interpreting messages in our daily lives.
keep an eye out for a poll coming up here shortly - after this video is done, i'd like to switch gears to making another video essay, and i'm curious to know what you'd like to see first.
stay cool & safe out there!

hi folks! just wanted to update and thought this might be better than making a video on the topic? we'll see how this goes.
so tl;dr: i just graduated with my master's of fine arts! the past year was spent researching and working on both my thesis paper and thesis project, as well as teaching part time as a TA. In short, I was extremely busy and had to prioritize all of that over the youtube channel. I just didn't have the time, and I was extremely burnt out.
That said, now that I'm finally free of the shackles of grad school - and right into the shackles of student debt - I have more free time to get back to making videos. I already have a couple of topics in mind for stand alone vids, and I'll be continuing with The Media Literacy Guidebook as well; there's at least another 5~6 videos in that series alone to finish!
Additionally, I decided to move all future Brooklyn Mom content to its own channel, @BrooklynMom . My spouse suggested it since those videos are pretty radically different than the other stuff I post here. If you like Brooklyn Mom, go follow over there!
Finally, please bear with me as I figure out my audio. We're in a new apartment space and I no longer have a dedicated office, so the acoustics and sound quality is going to vary for a bit until I figure out a more-or-less optimal setup. I'll make it work, but just give me a bit of time.
Thank you so much for sticking around with me during the radio silence. I'm excited to get back on here and make videos again. See you soon!

Good evening! I'm LadyGoggles. I'm just a geek who likes to pontificate at length about video games, media literacy, and media theory. Nice to meet you!
I focus on videos about media literacy and video game analysis. Unfortunately due to disability concerns my current upload schedule is all over the place, but I hope you find what I make interesting enough to stick around. Thanks for dropping by!
